Looking to send a few fasteners off for the zinc black treatment if anyone is keen.
I had all my turbo bike fasteners done. Also swingarm pivots and axles

It is a fixed cost for the first 10kg or so $45+gst last I got some done.
dembrittlement another $70+gst

So if anyone wants to tag in on my batch we can split up the cost

Any takers?

Yeah Deano I'll be up for some of that. Looking at s/arm spindle, rear wheel spindle, chain adjusters, engine mounting bolts, etc. for the GSX. Wouldn't mind seeing the finished result before hand though but am definitely interested.

I wont be in this time, but is there a size limit for this sort of stuff?

Not real sure mate. What sort of size were you thinking

200mm by 5mm plates maybe

Or suspension arms about the same size as a swingarm, but in steel and chromo.

Not sure probably would be ok but would have to ring them first.

Apologies if this is a stupid question but what does zinc black treatment do Deano? is it anti corrosion method of some sort...

It is just like normal zinc ('silver finish)but black

Yes anti corrosive. They tell me it is the normal zinc coating then gets a dose of black over the top. That is why the finish is not as black as you might expect cause coating black over silver dosent cover perfectly

Why the debrittlement?

If hardened bolts are zinc plated , (400 deg temp) temper of bolt may change ? Happy to be corrected its a guess.

Why the debrittlement?
Electroplating introduces microscopic bubbles of Hydrogen into the parent metal, parts have to be baked at high temp to diffuse the Hydrogen & restore the structure of the metal, that's why you don't plate structural or suspension parts.
