Xmas Drags 8th December 2012 - Heathcote Park Raceway

Thats right ladies its on again.

our Xmas party / Drag racing day will be held at Heathcote Park Raceway on Saturday 8th December.

last year was a hoot so don't miss out this year.

we have locked in the date. the finer details are still being thrashed out but the main thing you need to know is that you need to get yourself a leave pass for the 8th and prep/build your bikes between now and then.

not only will we be drag racing but at this stage we will be having a go to whoa just to break things up a bit.

racing is looking to start at early arvo through to about 8pm (light dependant).
we will be having a bracket racing competition to finish off the days racing.
there is a burnout pad for us to use (its hours of operation to be finalized)
camping at the track is included in the entry price.
it is STRICTLY NO BYO and STRICTLY NO GLASS
entry will be per bike not per person. - 2 bike = 2 entry fees.
there will be a canteen for food and bar for drinks. (hours of operation to be confirmed)
tickets will be purchased at the gate. no pre purchase allowed this year.

ticket prices will be $120 per bike. and $40 per spectator

we didn't win any friends last year with both the amount of glass and the BYO so we have this year to make it right. next years event hangs on the outcome of this event.

as more details are worked out i will let you know but until then tuck in your skirts get some grease under your nails and start sorting your bikes

its not that easy jules and matty there is a test and tune on the sun and if you wish to race in that it will cost you extra and we can still camp at the track it is still worth the trip over this way mate

Run again on the Sunday at the test and tune if you want a 2 day event that badly.
We only had 30-35 full paying riders last year.* If we get 50 this year I would be surprised.

Sounds like a plan Scotty. I'm sure you guys would be keen as mustard to do a bit of a ride on our roads on the Sunday. I'd probably have to either leave the car and trailer somewhere or else go home before the ride to drop off the car and meet up with u guys on the bike.

I have a single swag and a large double swag for those that are traveling from a good distance, I will be draging the Bikes IE 2 to the drags and will sleep in the back of the ute (prob make myself a canopy for the ute beforehand so wont need the use of swag)

Can also bring a BBQ gas hobs kettle and tools etc for a hot breakfast. I'm only an hourish from the track.

Your all more than welcome to invade shep if your interested (House has two lounge rooms plus a spare bedroom) plenty of room for tents out the front/back. Parking is pritty much on the street for cars/utes/tralors but no prob fitting 10 to 15 bikes in the front lockable yard(or could fit about the same under carport on front of house) . Fire pit out/bbq area back might even be done by then.

There are some nice ridable hills around the heathcote area see map. Thats a nice ride to my place, not silly long but interesting on a sunday.

so i priced it up today , $1386 to freight my bike to radelaide and back if i book before fri then i jumps to $1860 , ride from there on the fri to vic somewhere or someones on sat do the rest , incorp some of the adelaide hills on the way out and some on the way back in after doing the sunday ride (bonus is having my own bike) , flights there and back $340 , so $1700 bucks just for starters , or fly to melbs hire a bike which was about $700 bucks for 4 days plus a $2500 bond in hoping nothing happens + hidden costs (rubber sprayed up the back and a major bald tyre , or hire a car but boring

i really like the idea of taking the bike but it is pricey for 4 days riding , its do able but is it really worth the 4 days of riding , i think yes , so is there anyone else in SA riding there ???
