Buy the tickets anyway Jules, I'm pretty sure you could move them on at face value if you get a freebie. You still need to book your campsite, that's bound to fill up fast for trackside.

My brother is over from the UK so I can't make it, but keep an eye out for Huddo, Killers and Tails as they are hiring some super camper of some kind and getting the full experience. If you were at Heathcote, you know who they are.

You should thet them know that campers are banned from trackside camping at the gp, hire a car and bring a tent cos highside(the camper camp) sucks ass

Honda must have the shits.

Rossi walked and took the title with him,
now they have lost Stoner and the title again.
Both walked away for less (or no) money.

Race was worth watching for the battle for 4th place,
and to see how happy Jorge "Mr Consistancy" Lorenzo was at the end.

Im looking forward to next years Yam v Honda battle.

That'll be his 4th World Champ Title then,
2 in MotoGP and 2 in 250's.
Puts him in joint 12th of all time with Lawson, Biaggi and a few others.
I wouldnt be suprised to see another next year.

Well done to Stoner though, the Aussie legend has managed as many world
champ titles as Gary Hocking, Jan de Vries, Tarquinio Provin or Cecil Sandford.

Maybe not but Lorenzo has won more world championships than him and Rossi, well I'm sure he'll have 10 world championships under his belt before he retires.

:).
why is it when someone posts a thread saying" i fucking hate my job" we all jump in and say, "so quit, find something you like".
but when someone else (who has a job we think we'd like) hates his fucking job so goes ahead and quits because he can afford too, we don't like it?
No, he's not the greatest rider of all time, but he had a corner named after him at a track he dominated.
For the internet search geeks, what other riders have won 6 times in a row at their home track?
Just curious.

Well said Hooligan, Casey's job would be awesome but after 15 years of racing if he thinks it's time for a change good on him.
Better getting out now than waiting until he's no longer competitive like some...

The part that really sucks is as Matty said it'll probably be a long time till we see another Aussie up the top.

And on another note people still judge Stoner by how he acted and things he said when he was just a kid, I think he's grown up a bit now.

El_Hefty
29-10-2012, 02:36 PM
Yeah would hate to hang around like, whos that pommy world champ .... oh thats right they havnt had one since the 70's and Bazza fuck they havnt even won a race since Bazza in the top class.

DCRacing

Lol, this whole thread on Stoner is funny, but i think it shows how the racing has changed from being racing to managing the whole media side of things.
Stoner does not give a shit about media and the show, he wants to ride and get on with it, the media didn't like it and has not always done him many favours.
I am not saying that the others are in it for the glory or that they do not get on with racing, but they have managed the media a fair bit better, a classic example is Rossi he mastered the media extremley well and has lifted the whole motorcycling racing awarness to the forefront in the media.
They all have talent, even the ones at the back of the pack have far more skill than i ever hope to have.
The other riders have commented on how good a rider Stoner is and that it is a loss to the championship. I like Stoner and think he is a great rider and don't like to see him talked down, but we all have opinions. I used to like Rossi but i have come to dislike him as he has got arrogant or cocky about his belief in his abilities when they weren't quite there.
I am coming around to Lorenzo he has become a bit more humble about racing and is not as interested pissing competitions.
On another note, i think the bike to be on at the moment is a Yamaha, the top 6 or so riders usually have a bias to the Yamaha's, so Rossi has probably made a smart move..........

uhmmm....... i think i should shut up.

Like him or loathe him, and I do neither as I don't know the bloke, he is a genious on a bike. If he had been on a Honda or Yamaha rather than the Ducati all those years, he would have 4 or 5 world championships by now, not 2. He was the ONLY bloke who could make that bike work, Rossi changed his tune soon enough when he got on it eh?
I watch GP's to see the skill of the top riders, not to listen to the circus that goes with it, and I for one will miss watching him.

I hope Stoner gets bored of retirement and he comes back to Ducati in 2014 and shows them all how its done!!
Every season he started with a Ducati,he ended the season with the same bike, and maybe a hash up of bits from the spare parts bin from older models......and could still win more races than the "Greatest Ever"....Rossi!
Rossi goes to Ducati, gets paid Double what Stoner got.....gets how many engine upgrades???.......how many updated frames????......how many swingarms????.....even turned the wholeDucati philosophy of using a frameless design/using the engine as a stressed member...to a japanese like twin spar aluminium frame.....and still couldn't do fuck all.
Yep.....Rossi is the "Greatest Ever"....but it also helps being gifted the best Bike/Team since the day Doohan retired!!!
Even when Rossi went to the "dog" of a Yamaha...........how much a dog was it???? it was fuck all off the pace.
Wow....Stoners only won two championships.....its stilll a hell of alot more than anyone here....or even the great Schwantz....Gardener(????).....etc etc

Good point on how many championship he could have had.
The whole whinging thing, i dont think he has. he was riding the duc at the time, look how much rossi has bitched about it for fuck sake its now more a yam then yam is.
I loved it when rossi fucked up and took out stoner and then came in the pits and stoner quoted rossi and said "your ambition must outway your talent" I think that was AUSSIE GOLD!

That's one of the worst news sites around.

I don't see what the big deal is we're all happy enough to bag everyone else out anyway, shouldn't mean anything different if it's one of us or anyone else doing it, after all plenty of people were on the bash Stoner wagon.
