disc bobbins removal

I've got a pair of early Bandit 1200 discs and I want to remove the centres/carriers for painting. How do I remove the bobbins so that I can seperate the disc from the carrier? Do I need a special tool to do this?
Also where is the best place to get replacement bobbins? Cheers

I'm guessing there factory pressed units , got to drill them off. New units can be had with circlips or threaded depending on your appetite. Ti ones can be found with circlips.
