Ok take two in the paint job, there's still a few runs and marks but it's a lot better than the first crack.

It looks a lot lighter than it is in the pictures.

Yeah it is a bit like that but it gets a lot darker in the shade.

I'm considering a nice gold stripe, the missus said "a stripe....you were born in the wrong era".....So a stripe it will get, a nice metalic gold 10mm - clear - 30mm - clear - 10mm, stripe. Can you buy these as a sticker ?

My brother in law's a sign writer. Does vinyl wraps on cars and trucks. The stuff he did for me has minute little holes through it. That small you cant see them, butreally easy to use as you dont get bubbles.

Thought I'd get a few bugs on it to cover up some of the dodgy paint (and almost some snake guts).
After riding the Duke for a week I was in awe of the power and handling again, they made a great bike when they punched these out.
Mind you I took the Duke through some twisty's on Saturday and it's a stupid bike for corners. Port Stephens cutting is a little rough but it was a fun ride.

Walcha Road pub for a steak sanga on Sunday.

I haven't opened it up to have a look yet. If anyone has an idea what they think may be the problem fire away. I'll get some shed time on the weekend and see where it's coming from to run down the head and how it's making the exhaust smoke.

Head gasket? ... that would be best case i guess

It appears to be still running fairly smooth apart from the lung cancer its giving itself... pull plugs one by one isolate the cylinder ...

I disconnected the coil on each cylinder, one at a time and ran it, it seemed to produce the same amount of smoke running on each run. What's the next step ?

This smoke look blue or white to you, last night I thought white and tonight when running it looked more blue ??

I need some help finding a RELIABLE parts supply. I initially used the guys I bought the Yamaha off over in Tamworth, ordered the parts in May, paid for them in June, was told yesterday they can't get the bits I wanted for minimum 5 weeks.

Anyone know a good parts shop with plenty of stock on the shelves. Looking for pistons, rings, gaskets, valve seals ect.

When I pulled it down and checked everything I'm pretty sure it was simply a valve seal on No1 exhaust judging by the small pool of oil on top of the piston and no drop in performance.

This is how it's looked for the last 6 months. Hopefully will get it going before Nov

Try and contact Greg Watters / Booster.
He has been there / done that on almost everything Busa related.
He'll have a good idea an spares and parts etc.

Well it's all back together again, a quick 50k ride to make sure it wasn't going to detonate and then off to the local 1/8th mile drags. It ran 7.1s all day with a best of 6.97.
I'm having a little trouble launching it, the clutch grabs a little and then doesn't really grab properly until the clutch is right out. It like two separate stages of clutch release, hard to explain. Anyway that'll get fixed in the future for now I'm happy to have it back together and running sweet.

HA HA you have a busa clutch, they are shit in stock trim, get the Brocks cushion and ultralight kit. Good to see it running again.

So this is what you were up against before, it's a pain to launch and it just keeps killing the 60' times.

I ended up standing on the back brake, clutch out until it grabbed and then launching, it worked better but wasn't ideal.

Send me a link to the parts I need.
