The 7th Annual Pomona Poker Run gets underway on Sunday 1st July 2012. This is the major fundraiser for the Pomona King of the Mountain Festival, a project of the Cooroy-Pomona Lions Club.Registrations commence from 8am at Stan Topper Park Pomona. The ride starts at 9am and finishes around 2pm at a mystery destination! Bacon & Egg Muffins available for breakfast while you register.
Organiser Peter Cusack said, “The Pomona Poker Run just gets bigger and bigger each year. We are so happy with the response from riders across the coast. Last year saw a lovely crisp sunny day with up to 200 bikes gathering at Stan Topper Park Pomona to enjoy a relaxing motorcycle ride through the picturesque countryside of the Noosa Hinterland. There will be random draws throughout the day with some great prizes to be won, delicious homemade smoko to be had and finishes with a cold beer and sausage sizzle”.
Cost of entry is $15 a hand (per bike) plus $5 per pillion. Along the ride you collect playing cards from each stop and the person holding the best hand at the end of day is declared the winner. Prizes are generously donated by our sponsors: Tyres for Bikes, Spectral Screenprinting, Aussie Biker, Motorcyle Country, Bellbird Creek Cafe, Maroochy River Resort, Zinc 96.1FM and Cooroy Rag.
