On a personal level it will be bad as parts will cost more.

From the country's point of view and from a business perspective it would be a good thing. At the moment Australia is not a competitive market for exports. We're just too expensive. It is cheaper to buy new from overseas than it is to fix something here. I work in the Oil & Gas industry and it shows a lot in our Industry
