Not street fighter related, all though, much more of this and i will get the grinder and cut it up into bike size...

Ozzy knows the car, he saw it one of the only times its been driven this year

Nissan 300zx.

cracked hose behind the timing gear attached to the radiator hard water pipes.

Gotta take off the timing belt covers to get to the hose, but gotta get out the hard pipes to get the last bolt out from the cover...

Taking off the covers because ive got to change out the water pump at the same time...

worlds worst car to work on, but a hoot of a thing to drive..

and unless someone has a spare RB (Skyline) series motor layin about ive gotta fix this stupid VG (Z) motor..

Does anyone know about these cars? can help me out? or got a few spare ... HOURS? otherwise its back to bustin knuckles findin out for myself..

one car space in the shed 4 bikes , cost of one good car 4 bikes , fast car cheap bike still quicker . Sorry why are you bothering with a 300zx ? Even a twin turbo with $10k spent on the motor is still fat heavy slow , sell it and make a kwikasfarki !

Mostly how to take the bastid apart with the least amount of knucklescraping and swearing and possible...
or how to get someone to give me money and take it away...

take fan and shroud of radiator place a nice cut bit of cardboard against the rad core so you dont fuck it or just take that out aswell.

remove t belt covers ,lock up crank pulley bolt with breaker bar and loosen the cam bolts "dont remove"

get engine to top dead centre and mark all sprokets and belt with liquid paper and mark left and right cam pulleys to t belt so when it goes back on you have ur marks and factory marks, remove cam sprockets and crank pulley.

remove rear covers.
sometimes you will have to remove the top inlet section of manifold, then you have access to hoses under top section

and even then take a pic of timming belt with phone or digi camera so if you forget you have pics !!!

Im in Ipswich QLD mate,
would love a hand with this car.
its probably something stupidly simple that im missing though.

heres where im stuck (its not even anything cool)
http://i916.photobucket.com/albums/ad8/nemo115/DSC03007.jpg

Oil/coolant/shit all over everything

http://i916.photobucket.com/albums/ad8/nemo115/DSC03010.jpg

Both rubber hose sections connecting the hard pipe to the block/lower plenum are fucked, and need to be replaced.

Bolt (12mm) at the back of the hard pipe/hose section
I cant really even get to it to undo though..
Just two of them to get at.....

http://i916.photobucket.com/albums/ad8/nemo115/DSC03005.jpg

On each side of the pipe...
http://i916.photobucket.com/albums/ad8/nemo115/DSC03003.jpg

Plus the timing cover needs to come off, but it seems to be hooked on something
Ive taken out all the allen bolts
but it just gets hooked and i cant lift it out with the hard pipe still there
http://i916.photobucket.com/albums/ad8/nemo115/DSC03002.jpg

Problem is, both the hard pipe and the cover, seem to be in each others way...
Ive no clue besides taking the sawzall to the thing..

its a cunt of a job ,get a long thin knife and cut both the old hoses ,then remove the water neck, then take off the timing cover ,my 300 had the same prob when i got her, ok now for the fun ,buy a new straight hose and cut into 2x lengths and 4x new ,hose clamps ,fit the 2x hoses first to the motor ,then tighten up the 2x clamps using a 1/4 drive socket wrench and n 8 mil socket ,dont over tighten and strip the clamps ,now fit the timing covers ,now, for the hard bit ,put the 2x hose clamps on the 2x hoses ,then push the water neck back into the 2x hoses, now using a long screw driver ,to hold the inner hose clamps in theright position tighten with socket wrench long little extension and 8 mil socket.

with my boys in the workshop it gives me the shits when they try to remove as little as possible to try and repair,i found it easy with the twin turbo 300zx i done the heads on to strip the front compleately belt covers ,belt, and back cover, i then removed the top plenum chamber and had access to a lot more space, unless you have a lot of 1/4-3/8 and ratchet spanners to make life easy just remove the lot and take pics for refference and replace shit as you go ,in the valley of the 300 is the knock sensor smack in the middle!! make sure it hasnt melted "yes melted!!!" a little to much heat and they die!!
