Obviously as stock they are restrictive, but with suitable mods to allow more air flow whats the difference between them and pod filters ?
I've been doing a lot of internet reading and getting nowhere.
I know from experience FJ motors like the airbox (I've had 3 12's and an 11 plus my current one).
I'm looking at a stock Xjr airbox (+K&N filter) with a cold air intake system.
If I linked the vent hoses from the float bowls to the box could the system remain sealed ? The last system I did I had vents to prevent pressurizing the box. Worked well too...plus gave a decent intake roar.

With CV Carbs on a street bike its better to run the box and a good after market filter.
I have had some success with the BMC twin Pod filters on CVs but thats on a race bike but it didn't seem to bad round the pits.
Smooth-bores run ok with pods but some bikes can have airflow problems.

Ok, So how do 38mm cv/flatslides work with a good flowing airbox ?
I have some from a gsxr that I will be trying sometime in the future.
