Bike is 89 750 does anyone know if I need the spacer on the left? My petcock was blanked off so I dont know.Just bought a kit and doesn't have one.The one pictured is from 88 model.cheers:)

the diaphram should consist of 2 square thin rubber pieces and dosnt the spacer go between the 2 rubber diaphrams to space them apart

don't take that as gospal as it have been awhile since i pulled one apart

it looks like it needs a spacer but my kit didn't provide one and mine hasn't had one while i've had it.what's the spacer made of?

Ii will let you know for sure a bit later tonight when I am doing some more much needed work to my fighter.
I have bitten the bullet and borrowing the works tig to clean up the welds

stu,good luck with your welding,I already asked the shop which provided the petcock kit for advice,but they don't know where to get one ,other than a new cock.might have to make one or check other shops.cheers:)

It is made of plastic and sits between the two rubber diaphrams

My welding has improved and the welds on the bike look a lot better but still shit compared to what others do.
I think I will be sending myself on a aluminium welding course somewhere soon
