Can I use a 750 J model clutch basket ( complete set up ) and cable clutch set up in a 1100 J model motor instead of the orignal hydraulic set up.

I have no idea , as never opened eather . But I would be interested in the info , would have thought the clutch swap would have been a step backwards 750 into 1100 . I know the 1100 clutch is a cast basket and the backing plate is weak for big power options, are you just looking for the clutch swap "just" to go to cable? And/or is the 750 basket stronger ? There are a few off the shelf options for stronger "billet" baskets and matching backing plates with heavy duty springs on the market.

If the 750J is an Aluminium basket clutch don't do it.
It'll let go and send Al. into the sump.

I put a 1052 clutch into my 750 and still have the cable for opperation.

They also have a different tooth count on the flywheel.

I don't know if you have the 1052 or 1127 but the conversions from 1127 to 1052 is common and you can get lock ups for them.

we are working on a 7/11 convert and we don't have the 1100 clutch set up was hoping to use the set up off the 750. It looked liek it would all fit and just use the 750 cover? Can it be done? Would we be better off just getting the original set up? whats a lock up clutch worth for one of these?

If you use the 1100 clutch and put the 750 cover on using the puller thingywhatsit (with bearing and hard washer) it'll work.

You might have to space out the cover though, when i put the 1100 clutch in mine i got a MTC spacer and machined it down to 22mm to get the spacing right.



Thinking about it, it should be fine without the spacer. If you have a 750 cover do a dummy assembly.
