Did a front end swap on a mates SV1000 the other day (with the Gix front end from my SV) and he time lapse filmed it on his gopro. the video came out really well. Also gives you a good indication of how retarded my dog is.

it makes a fucking MAMOTH difference!

The suspension is a LOT more predictable (plus adjustable) and the brakes are like night and day... Also it looks pimptacular :P

Might have to search for some parts then.. I know a few people on svdownunder have done it but never really looked at doing it till now.. Looks kinda stratght forward

that swap was a little easier because i already had some modded parts from my 650 and the thou is an easier swap. its a little harder for the 1st gen 650 too. Lots of info out there though.

That worked well mate. Made what would have been a very long dull video really interesting. How did he get the slow pan mate? Was that in the edit or was the camera on some kind of slow pan head?

I'm moving this to the video section as this is too good not to.

with the magic of tight arsedness... he did the slow pan using an egg timer. So he had the gopro mounted on top of the egg timer (flat top and bottom) and then sat that in different spots and turned it to 20min or so and it rotated the top as the time went on.

Ah cool I was looking at your user name and thinking nah that's not a ford. Anyway sounds like a fun little project never the less.

i vote for more of this stuff and less of the bitching that goes on around here of late

great work fella's
agree 100% that the stock SV forks are bargain-bin rubbish
have many memories of hitting mid-corner bumps/potholes and crossing my sphincter just hoping the front rubber would carry me through the corner

Thanks for putting the video up here Travis. Was wondering where all the traffic was coming from :D

So happy with the new forks, and the brakes do have more bite now (and I made sure they're on there tight ;)).

Cheers guys,

Joost

I think it was very well put together and the music suited it well too, well done and the SV looks magic with the new front end!
