I like the looks of this and looks like a bit of fun......particularly for a factory bike.
Heaps of room for modification. Parts are cheaper than dirt. BYO witworth spanners.
Once I'm done suing every cunt in this town for far too many fuck ups on the sale of our property Ima gunna gets me another road going cycle. Since the property we are trying to purchase is amongst very nice roads in every direction I'm just looking for something uniqe and fun for shits and giggles.
Rode a Ducati 1000s a few years ago and got back to the dealer and told him he was dreaming for 22k. Terrible piece of shit.

Fun is the word.
remember that fun can be had on a 110 step through Honda.
Ducati offered up something similar but the bastard cost near 26k just to get it to move forward faster than a gpz250.
I like it so get fucked.
I like working on bikes. I like riding bikes. I like having some flair. I like having something different. Streetfighter values?
Once upon a time I bought a GPZ 250r off ebay for $400, fitted up a rear fzr1000 single seat unit, some pod filters and strapped a beer box to the front end as a fairing. Luagh they did when I turned up at PI for the interclub round.....still wasnt the last one home.
Haven't ridden an Enfield ever. Have ridden japanese hyper sports bikes though and know that they are unusable at 100% on victorian roads. So why not have fun wringing its neck ?
Each to their own.

Each to their own, Variety is the spice of life, etc etc etc.

The injected 500 i rode was very disapointing.
One of the few bikes i've ever ridden that made
a Sportster seem great value and exciting !

Enfield seem to live off the fact that a Thousand Million Indians
think they are a Super-bike and can fix them on the side of the road,
and a few thousand westerners think its cool to be "retro" and
"remember the good old days".

I like "simple". I just dont think Enfields are very good motorcycles.

Tony. I'm one of those few thousand and I do like the good old days.
Of course it would be disapointing by Japanese standards in this day and age. Consider that most every Japanese bike comes off the shoroom floor with a near enough blueprinted engine and computer designed and engineered frame........and tnen you fuckers think you can do better by fightering them!
Some can but alot fall a long way short.

Whoresome.
Point is that these bikes are infinetly customisable, parts are cheaper than the big four and will give just as big a grin factor for a a sunday spin.
Who is that Drysdale fella anyway?
Put it this way. there are a few on evilbay right now that are as good as new for sub 5k registered and a going concern. Pick one up and modify to flat track or cafe for almost nothing.
Remember that it is all about having fun.

I've ridden a mates "New Enfield" goes ok does what its designed to do with little fuss. Isnt cheap for what it is, but hey if it blows wind up your skirt enjoy. Personally I'd buy an old xs650 and bore + stroke it to 1000cc and give it a 270 deg firing for half the cash.

Yes they are antiquated, slow and quirky but I still think it would be fun to fuck about with one.
