Figured I would start a build thread just for the hell of it.
The plan is to build a drag bike but all I have is a 750 frame and some odds and ends. Watching Egay for more bits and I have posted a WTB thread to see what people have
OK this is what I have

Im in no rush and as the funds become available I will grab bits and pieces.

Obviously I need a motor/box I will be looking for the biggest I can squeeze it (Probably won't register this one maybe) and looking at making a home made turbo set up for it aswell as time goes by.

I will be looking for info on these Suzuki things aswell so look out for dumb questions

i've got a pile of bits and pieces from pulling apart the 711 after i binned it, a couple engine mounts, a lot of nuts and bolts , one 750 black box, one 1100 black box, a side stand (that i think i was supposed to give to deano but couldn't find it when i sent the swingarm. sorry Deano). Just various bits and bobs.
I might even have an 1100 oil cooled gearbox (which from memory was having probs slipping out of second) but no idea on condition.
You're welcome ro come over to go through what I've got to see if there"s anything that's useful. i'm in baulkham hills.

First problem.
I have noticed swing arm pivot hole in the 88 frame is smaller than the pivot bolt from the later model swing arm I have. So do I just mill it out until i fits? OR Do I chase other bits. Other than that looks OK to me so far, still gotta do some more checking.

Keen to see it all finished and up and going.

Ah, this is looking interesting Yella lol.
Mate is that a watercooled frame in the background?
If so i'd be using that as the basis as they give alot more room between the front wheel and motor
to fit the oilcooler and intercooler/turbo in compared to the slingy frame. Still put an oil cooled motor in though ;)

Keep them piccys coming

Cheers Slingy

imo i like to keep frame stock and sleave the swing arm to suit the smaller size prob not as strong as bigger size
but in my exp i havnt had any probs and means i dont cut anything up and is a easy fix

yella - what year swingarm are you using?

I put a K1 in my slingy frame and pressed the K1 spacers/sleeves over the slingy ones and kept the slingy pivot bolt - pretty much made it a bolt in job - only thing was had to fabricate a new top shock mount to space the top away from the frame a little more to accommodate shocky going thru the swingarm to the bottom mount

If the wheel is a 6 inch then it will be a K5/6 if it's a 5.5 inch then it will be 600/750K6/7 the earlier sprocket carrier will fit as will the SV1000 carrier. Slingy discs will fit the rear and a simple bearing swap to a 6304 will allow use of a 20mm rear spindle, I've fitted the K series wheels into Slabby and Slingy, as well as others. The K5 wheel is easier to fit into a Slingy arm as the hub is narrower than the earlier wheel. I've run the slingy 240mm disc and used the Slingy caliper hanger, but I've also used a Slabby caliper hanger on the 220mm disc which both work fine.
When I swapped out the Slingy front end to use the 1000K5 front end it saved a huge amount of weight, each fork leg and caliper weighs around 2.5kg less than the Slingy items do.
I'm just building a 7/11 Slabby using the 1000K5 wheels and forks with a 1000K2 arm for someone, due to the narrower K5 hub a 20mm spacer was required between the caliper hanger and swingarm to centre everything.
If you use the SLingy linkage you can get away without making a new top mount. On the Slabby I modified the original eccenter linkage to work with an Ohlins Blade shock and custom tie rods to the K2 arm, this avoided the need to fabricate new shock mounts. I needed to scallop the front of the brace a little to accomodate the shock.

Watto. Its a K5ish swinger Pete may know for sure came from him. swing arm pivot bolt is from 95 I dont have an 88 swing arm pivot bolt. Still gotta work on the suspension pivot points to make it work. Details
Tried a 04 750 carrier it didnt fit the wheel but was close looking for a 05ish 1000 to try
