Need advice on doing wheelies - Hyosung GT650 naked unrestricted

Hey im new to this forum , im from the Sydney area, i ride a Hyosung GT650 with a 2010 650cc engine, unrestricted. At the moment I can pop the front wheel in the air when im taking off the lights using the clutch but i dont get it that high, i'd like to know if anyone can explain the proper technique to doing a proper wheelie.

Welcome mate, but what the boys are trying to say in a roudabout way is that you should head over to the Intro section and introduce yourself and upload a pic or 2 of your ride.

Kinda like when u meet someone for the first time you say, 1082

Hold the throttle on about 9-10 grand and then just drop the clutch, it should come up nice and high pretty quick.

I wouldnt class myself as one who should be giving advise of wheelies,

but I'd find out if being "up on one" could starve the motor of oil
as on the Suzuki SV650 that the Hyosung seems to be very similar too.

First up change your user name to StuckOnTwo as you obviously have no idea how to be up on one, sell your Korean hunkodung and purchase a quality second hand motorcycle then practice.

Welcome mate. People just get a bit pissy when you don't introduce yourself before asking questions here.

All in all there are quite a few Hyosungs round nowadays, not my cup of tea, but they're a cheap way to get a medium powered bike on the road. Personally I prefer riding a 2nd hand Jap, but each to their own.

As for pulling mono's, it's all about practice mate. Never owned a V-twin so can't talk muchabout them, however 2nd gear is usually the go in both my old R6 and my current ride the R1. I don't suggest trying to mono in 1st as you might end up with your ass on the ground quit quickly. Start off slowly and take it from there. I'm only recently starting to enjoy a couple of good mono's at 100km/hr or there abouts and managing to maintain the wheel up for a while.

End of the day mate, you're on 2 wheels rather than 4, so that's always good in my book.

Don't worry mate I can't mono mine for shit either, but I think with mine it's a power to weight issue. It weighs 240 odd kilos and only has 88hp.:o I can put it up in first but as soon as I hit second it slowly starts to go down and that's holding it flat. My old XR650 I could mono from standing start to top gear and keep it there for a while as well as go round corners. So maybe your bike just haven't got the power to get the front wheel up, or do what the trick riders to and put a huge sprocket on the back.
