Boring question, but... Thread Lock.

Going to swap some disc's over and have a few other job's planned.

What do you recommend ?

Are they all the same ?
Supercheap/Repco or anything special ?

I only ever used what ever I found first,
just wondered if there's anything "Quality"
that I should be using.

loctite 243 would be my choice tony... doesnt require thread to be 100% clean and free of oil not too strong and will cover most of the work you do on your bike

permatex do a blue but its the old 242 which isnt oil tollerant, still made by loctite (whom used to own permatex) and the same strength at the 243, but without the oil tolerance so the threads need to be cleaned 100%. Im sure Repco stock one or the other.

3bond is the japanese version and as with all the others they copied Loctite and therefor run very similar numbering to loctite in their range

I had to torque out the old thread bolts from my front disks and they were tight to get back in. Don't know what they were covered in but it's blue and there's no way I could put them back in with my fingers.

"loctite 243" sounds like the one for me then.

Yeah Large, was cleaning up some wheels and saw the blue
stuff in the threads that reminded me I needed some.

Don't forget-

You only need to locktite it if you''re keeping it!

Either one will work for you, below is from the Loctite website. For what you need, I would suggest 243

Loctite ® 243™ Threadlocker is a general purpose, medium strength threadlocker with improved oil tolerance. For fasteners between 1/4"and 3/4"(6 to 20 mm) diameters.

Loctite ® 262™ Threadlocker is a permanent threadlocker for fasteners up to 3/4"(20 mm) in diameter. Excellent for preventing rust and corrosion in extreme chemical/environmental conditions.
