Just starting to do a bit of research into the naughty NOS, has anyone bought one of these kits?

The first one you list is a dry system so limited to maybe +40hp
The second one is a fogger, not sure how that works on multi ports and an airbox
I bought one of these for the ZX12.

It sits on a shelf with all my other toys.

lol... nice to have toys. Is there much performance difference between brands if comparing similar types?

I've used a couple of Holley/NOS wet 4 pot 60hp systems.
Played with a few other folks. Im happy with them.
Went for those because lots of other guys were.
Might have been better systems, but my way I could trade
jet's, filters, pumps, foggers etc and use their refill bottles.
I had a 2lb and a 2.5lb bottle. Very hard to hide, a 2lb one
will just go under a Busa hump. Cant see the point in the skinny
bottles. If your serious and use it you'll be emptying a 2lb one
enough. The skinny bottles would give me the shit's.
Never been real impressed with dry systems or single
fogger in the airbox types. 4 pot wet is a foot in the door
to an upgradeable over time monster system.
Hope to get another wet NOS system in the future.
They are a little basic and dated but very easy to understand
and to set up and test.
* The first streetbike to run in the 7's, and years later the first
streetbike to run in the 6's BOTH ran NOS not turbo's.
Throttle in a bottle!
the best system to use here in OZ mate is one from OZNOS in albian park, there kits are ther best ive ever used, designed by aussies for aussies ,the solinoids are fully serviceable ,and if i remember they can supply the hoses need to refill their bottles from the larger bottles fron BOC.
oh and dont forget ,dont let it run lean ,or youll kill the donk most nos systems need more fuel when using the giggle gas unless its the small shot kit.

It suprising how many bottles are mounted wrong.
Make me wonder how many have ever had gas in the them ?
Most folk seem to mount them to just look good,
really they should lean forward, with either the tap or bottom
of the syphon tube at the lowest point. Gas go's towards
the outlet during use, not climbing away from it.
Mmmmmm... who started me on NOS !
How much do I have in the bike fund........

I used to "arm" the system, fuel pump on, power to both solenoids etc,
but leave the Nitrous bottle turned OFF. Quick run up and down the street,
and hit the button. It should chuck in fuel but no nitrous and try and choke
the motor. If it does, I them turn the nitrous bottle ON, and know i've got
fuel there and it should be safe when I go for it for real.

Cheers fellas, anything I need to be especially aware of when picking a kit? Or anything specific to running NOS on twins?

Go to the drag's and talk to the folk running nitrous bikes and
see what they're using, not the fella's trying to sell you a kit.

...and get yourself a set of kitchen scales !
Mine are digital, flat dinner plate size, and weigh lb's and Oz.
Weigh your empty bottle (most have it written on them) and
then its easy to weigh the bottle before run's up the strip or
a night out and know exactly how much gas you have in it....
.... and avoid PTFE/Plumbers tape. Nitrous sends it brittle and
its easy to get it in the system and block up your nitrous filter
on the solenoid.
.... plastic line's on kits work fine. Cheap and easy to work with,
but again, Icy cold nitrous seem's to make them brittle with a bit
of use. Not great but can always be changed to braided on some kits.

Horn button's make good "FIRE" button's. I like the Holley/NOS way.
A flick switch somewhere turns the horn button into the NITROUS button
but a micro-switch on the carb's or throttle body only sends it LIVE
on full throttle. Dont push the horn in 1st, hold it in with 2nd or 3rd
gear on and the gas comes in and out with full throttle when its needed.
