Any body got any tricks on repairing a stone chip in a fork slider with out removing it from the bike:(

Ireally dont wnt to rechrome it because it would probly be cheaper to buy a 2nd hd front end off a 929 but i dont really want to do that.

There's no real way to "repair" a chip in the chrome - apart from re-chroming.
Best bet is to run a sharpening stone / light emery paper over the chip to remove any raised edges (so it doesn't rip the oil seal) and then spin the fork around in the clamps so you don't see it.
