computer guru's DVD burning stuff needed

as the title says i am just starting to learn how to burn dvds and i need a progranm to burn the fuckers with the last time i burnt a dvd was about 8yrs ago with a program call Nero does anyone have a copy of this i can use or is there something better avail these days
