ok boys and girls life has been a bit shit lately i wont bore with the details but whats a bloke to do......
well when you havnt had yr own bike on the road for 5 yrs (still rideing other bikes btw) and u need to stay sane
well saneish as ill ever be.you might find yrself walking around the shed in a drunken haze tring to think of things to cheer you up, you think to yr self life was so much simpler when u just got on yr bike and fucking rode some where for the fun of it. thats where i found myself, but what to do, the zephyr needs $ and some finalising of what im doing(you will find out when i do it and yes it will be done lol). so then in the shadows sitting is what some of you might remember is my old mates 750 slingy looking all ugly and worn out but when he needed the cash fast only cost me $400. mmmmmmmnnnn that could be cheep lets have a look at what i have on the shelfs,of there is some bars and risers that cost me 0 ,oh there is the head light that i brought for 50 yrs ago and was useing for mock ups sweet. Ihad allready taken the front plastic off it last yr casue it just didnt look right so well a few afternoons and a few nights this is where i am.
now this isnt a bike built to be a fighter but built as cheep as i can with the least amount of work just so i can be back riding my own bike, so no paint no flash shit just shit at hand, standard tail will stay and aprt from the cheep $40 mirrors and head light has cost me 0(mind u thks to russ for donating a few things cause his a top bloke)
so 1st things 1st brakes where shot and i mean shot he rode it to my place with no back brake and when u touched the front it shutered like a bitch fucking nutter.front disks where worn lucky i had a spare set that came with another front end yrs ago sweet, but not so easy rear brake old mate says its leaking any 1 want to quess y

yep piston right tho pad and shim and onto disk lucky it ran out of fluid lol
prob was piston thus was shaged worn on one side from disk about 5 mm and stuck in housing doh
lucky again i had a 1100 one from some rims i brought for wifes bike dif calliper shore... one is arm and one is slider so just strip and use the back from the 1100 and front of 750 back on bike and sorted

so then onto the front some braded lines from the zephyr and one from russ fixed right up
now for the fun bit i need light so lets go......fuck dont want to make or buy fork brackets mmnnn i wonder there are these fareing brackets every one cuts off that will do and look at that some s/s off cuts from work sweet that will do and be at least some what diff or as diff as u can be with a fucking gsxr without useing bat wings. while the welder is out and lathe is running i need some thing to hold the brake res in place sweet done and done

any 1 working with s/s will tell u it moves like a mofucker when u weld it so some off cut while i did main bracket

so as it sits owes me just under 500 needs chain and scorkets as well as tyres so there is 500
ill live with 1000 before rego and insur lol but think ill have to junk rear shock and find a replacment that fits from a newer bike so more money but still its fuking cheep and its ruff so it will do while i build better things

on another note i remembered what i think is a k2 gsxr shock i had sitting on the shelf, when i feel the need ill have a look if i can make it fit leagth isnt such a prob tho i think its long but dont these thing have a bolted top shock mount mmnn that would make the only prob that the res is side mount and might frame im shore if i have a look on net ever type of shock known to man has be tried in these fucking things lol

the k2 shock wasnt a stright fit but close to
12mm spacer behind the top mount some longer 10mm fine bolts and just a little trim with the die grinder on the rocker arm because it just nipped at full extention
but the old batt no longer fit so $22 for a 2nd from staff shop at the batt factory that i look after for a 12ah sealed alarm battery like the ones red says to get. i have never used one so ill give it a try and see, it is smaller both in size and ah (12 vs 14) but seams to turn over and run the motor fine.
this build i really just being ruff so for a hrs of work i knocked up this battery box up, it ant prety but cost 0 and works so on it goes

up date i had to replace the blinkers so i got some cheep leds form flee bay
wired them up and all i got was hazard lights, right flash rate as russ donated a led flasher he didnt need(who said he was a cunt)
didnt mater what i did all i had was hazards after somebad words and a clear headed look see i found that the
dash indercator globe swicthes polarity from left to right imput. long story short 2 diodes later i joined the inputs to one side of the globe and run the other to a seperate earth and all is good again.
the chain and sprockets where fucked(there is groves worn into the swing arm from the chain yuck this bloke was crazy, see brakes) so did my look around the shed before i spend money what do u know the is the rk gold chain that i had on the zephyr and it was only about 1000ks old when bike came of the road sweet oh and look rear of a 1100 rim that was for ex's project all be it i tooth smaller but it will do so just had to buy a front one
so off i went to mad mick at goodna and there are a few on here that would know of him and y i call him mad but he allways looks after me and i trust what he tells me about what to use and he has never been wrong yet
so i says what u putting on me rims mick he says come back in a few days wicth means a week lol

he used a shinko 003 front and a super courser rear and told me the rear wont last that long but in my curent state of mind(he knows im going thro a seperation) i cant be trusted with out really sticky round things cause women make u do silly stuff
so at under $400 i got tyres ,sprocket and some wheel bearings very happy now i just have to clean up a few things and wait till i can pay for rego sweet

well after 5yrs one fucked bike, one shed, one kid and a seperation i fainaly have a rego bike in my name on the road as of today
all up with rego, parts and buying the thing im out of pocket just over $1500 so i think that it fufills the aim of the project

oh red i have a plan old boy this is for rideing and well lets just say im selling shit to get money together for the plans that are in motion on the zephyr mate a little along some of yr own plans if things come together
and when thats ready in for road ill pull this thing of the road and do a rebuild so dont have to spend on new bikes all the time lol
forks and k2 rear shock need setting up and a few things but really just happy to be back on road

07 R6 shock will fit the piggyback is low enough not to need the undertray cutting, if you don't mind cutting the undertray then the GSXR600/750K6 shock will fit.

well bike went out for its first full run today from my place in ippy up to the cafe on top of glorious for bite and a coffee then back down to the city to see russ
then we both went out to a mates at samford and back home again just under 200 ks nothing fell off includeing me and ran sweet so i call that a win.
the suspention needs to be set its a bit uneasy on ruff bends but the tyres mick sold me feel fantastic time just to put ks on it

Mate that is way to clean for your bike. Either give the bike a wash or kick the tank cover and bag around the shed floor for a week to dirty it up.
