does ur throttle tube slot into a round piece that holds the throttle cables? If so a different sized 'holder thingamijig' will alter the throttle action ie faster/slower. When i bought my billet grips it came with 3 different ones, one of which would have given me a quick action throttle.

there was a how to on this round here a while ago but all you have to do is shorten the travel of your cable so if you make the tube bigger by maybe glueing a cable tie or something like that to it ....should work ok prob something better than a cable tie but you get the idea

Increasing the circumferance of the path of the cable will result in pulling the same amount of cable with less twist.

Most Gsxr have 33.3mm dia "pulley"
R1 has 37mm pulley. I just put a r1 tube in my Gsxr and it helped but went from 1/4 turn to bout 1/5 turn. I still want faster

I've got a Domino 1/8 turn single cable job on my Gixer & it's too fast, the throttle's either on or off.
I spose I don't help the situation by having the dexterity of a Gorilla, if you had Trials Rider level throttle control it might be smoother but I'm gunna change it to a more forgiving 1/4 turn chap coz it's easier than learning to ride proply.

is that the brand tk(domino)are they only single cable or could i buy one for my zxr which as you would know is push pull twin cable ,im a bit the same with throttle control or lack of so 1/4 turn would be cool

Mark the throttle and see what you have now. 1/4 is pretty slow. 1/8 is about what I want

At the end of the day, on CV carbs the slides will only rise as quickly as the springs (as well as other factors) will let them, my Gix is really snappy & feels like it has slide carbs (it doesn't) maybe it has lightweight diaphragms/springs/slides? My Racebike has a 1/8 turn throttle too (yes they are available in twin cable) but throttle response is nowhere near as quick - might be down to the difference between Mikunis & Keihins, 750s & 1100s... or something more sinister??
I reckon you'd hafta have the throttle control of The Lord himself to use a 1/8 with FCRs or RSs (flatslide pumpers).

I used the R6 throttle tube on my GSXR 600 it gives a 1/6 turn.
2006 R6.
Part: 2CO-26240-00. This number is what was on the yamaha part label on the bag the tube came in.
Colour: White.
Diameter of cable pulley: 40.5mm.
Turn: 1/6.

As TK has already indicated
I reckon 1/8 is going to be too twitchy Pav.

Most Suzuki's are 1/4 turn.
R1 is 1/5th turn.
R6 is 1/6th turn.

If you can't find a quicker action or short-throw throttle to suit your bike, get yer hand further up on top of the grip and have yer elbow up high. When you crack it wide open, drop yer whole arm, elbow and all.
Most people are only fooling themselves when they think they need a quicker action or short-throw throttle on a no-bar bike on the dragstrip.
If you're serious, you'll be at wide open throttle just off the startline and won't roll off until you're through the traps.
Practice sliding the clutch lever out. That'll lower most people's ETs more than a 1/5 or 1/6 turn throttle.

The other option if your so inclined would be to reduce the diam of your carbs cable cam. The bonus is you can make it eccentric (oval instead of round with an off centre axis) so you can have good throttle control at small openings while still being able to snap open the last half of throttle quickly.
You can then have a 1/4 throttle responce off idle to say cruising speed (on road) and above can be quickened to 1/8 or quicker for drags. The cam action will be felt at the handpiece as a stiffening (harder to twist slightly) .
