Getting close to finishing. Got a tl1000r front end. R1 swinger and shock. Still need to fit r1 subframe. Seat just sitting on subframe for a look. gsxr600k5 wheel. Also have the exhaust off r1 for under the seat.

Not as many dramas as I thought it would be. Different sized bearings either side didn't make it easy. Got the other side machined out so they both have 37mm diameter. Got the arm and shock for 45 of e*ay. The wheel for 200 with new tyre! the front forks for 180 (300 delivered) the subframe and exhaust for 40 the seat unit and light and pads for 100. Real cheap project. Cant wait to ride it. Just getting the bottom linkage and shock mount sorted now. Next week I will get the exhaust done and the lugs welded on for the subframe.

Looks good mate and that swinger
looks the business,the only thing i'd say
is the seat will be very high up the tank
if you drop the front of the subframe down a little{like in the first pic}
and keep the back of the tail even with the tank or above it
just my 2p's worth but what would i know.

Exactly, just lining everything up. The seat pad will be trimmed down and the seat level with the tank. You have to remember that you sit IN a slingy and ON an r1 so the seat would suck if it where the spot that looks the best. Riding it is more important to me than how it looks.

Sorry bare bottoms, yes use the subby. Just find a good tig welder to put a plate on your frame. Mount the R1 shock on same. Too easy.
