I will be up that way over Christmas. Was thinking of taking the bike down for a run. I'm hoping that there won't be that many turn up with the Chrissy holidays etc. So it might be a good night to get a few more runs in.

Anyone up that way interested in going?

I know. Might have to move back up that way again. Was great to meet you the other week. I was actually working with the guys who were running the Chemical Warfare Nitro Funny Car. had a great night. Maybe see you on the 28th.

It's a Wednesday Night. Gates don't open till 5:30pm. Heaps of time to close shop and get down there:cool:

Slight issue, just checked the Willowbank site and they say they're shutting down from the 22nd Dec to the 4th Jan. However It also says about the T&T on the 28th. I'll try and give them a call to see what the dealio is tomorrow. Would be pissed to get all the way out there only to find closed gates.

You had me worried there. I just went on the website and had a look. It also says that the scheduled Test n Tunes will still be running during this time. I'll try to give them a ring to confirm.

But what is the deal, last time i was on the drag strip was about 10 years ago, do i get a day licence and is there a scrutineering, How soon before should i rock up if i get there

I have done a fair bit at the circut stuff but never really done the drag stuff..........

Yeah DC you rock at 5 up pay your 45 and head to scrut. Pretty good they just want to check you're wearing valid helmet mostly. Sign the waiver and they give you a number on a board to zip tie to the left side of bike. Then line up in one of the two bike lanes on the left side of the staging area and wait to be waved forward. Do be aware though that current rules say you must run slower than 9.99 if you're on a day licence. This all applies to registered "street" bikes. Purpose built "RACE" bikes must adhere to relevant ANDRA class rules as do "Street" bikes running 9.99 and quicker. I know this probably sounds heavy, just making sure no-one gets turned away and misses out. But most importantly HAVE FUN!

Well it was the wifes birthday last week and as usual l popped the tire, so unless l find some money hidden somewhere the bikes out. But l may be able to take her car, so l'll see what happens.

Heaps of people there, more than anyone thought I think. Got 4 runs in, worst one was 11.05 best was 10.6 I think. I lost all my slip on the way home except for the worst of course. Didn't crash, met some new faces, had a good night.

Yes well, wasn't a bad night out for having a chat, waiting for a run was a bit of a drag.....................

Sorry, that was bad.

It was a good night, first time on the drag strip on a bike, learnt a bit about it. I got 3 runs in probably would have got 4 but i stuffed around a bit when i got there.
worst was a 11.2 and the best was a 10.9, so i reckon with a bit more practice i might be able to knock off another couple of tenths.
Got to meet Crow, Fish, Jed and apparently Angrypom was about, and another that i can't remember his name.

Only issue was how many where there, Got there about 5:30 and left about 10:30 for 3 passes
I will probably have another go one day..........

Had a ball. Heaps more people than I expected, but was still a good night. Was good to meet some people from here and put some faces to names. Was pretty happy with the old ZXR. Best time was an 11.3. Really ordinary 60foot times all night (2.1 - 2.2). I used a crap rear tyre I got for nothing (an Avon something) It was hard as a rock and kept spinning up off the line.

Will hopefully get down there a bit more often in the future as am moving back home to Toowoomba in the next few months.
