View Full Version : The worlds slowest build.

Righto lads this is my thou.

I have already fitted ABM clamps, risers and fat bars courtesy of crazymofo. HEL braided lines etc. http://i961.photobucket.com/albums/ae97/gqmad/bike stuff/024.jpg

A bad pic of it mostly together.
http://i961.photobucket.com/albums/ae97/gqmad/bike stuff/072.jpg

I recently replaced the front discs with a set of aftermarket rotors but can't find the pic....

As some of you know I bought Sens gixer and he was nice enough to throw in the lights he bought the bike with so I have been playing around with them....

http://i961.photobucket.com/albums/ae97/gqmad/bike stuff/014-1.jpg

http://i961.photobucket.com/albums/ae97/gqmad/bike stuff/015-1.jpg

Also have a power commander that I'm yet to fit, I'm struggling with time, money and my inability to decide on paint etc at the moment hence the title....;)

The list as it stands: Shorten any excess wiring,
Maybe steal the showy mask from the other gixer,
Overflow bottle,
Mount stock dash,
Modify stock rear body work,
Actually find time to work on it lol.
Mount either the mask or these ^^^
Relocate ignition barrel (sorted the location just have to make the bracket)
And a whole heap more......

Constructive critisism welcome, any and all advice appreciated.

Cheers,

Dan.

Don't worry on the speed of the build, its the thought that counts....... or something like that

my theory on building bikes is to buy them, put them in the shed and hope one day i will do what i had planned for them.

Lol fuck Dylan I haven't even got the 1100 rego'ed yet, but depending on wether I sell a few things it might get a radial front end yet.....

Also have to replace the shift forks and clutch in a gixer 250 yet..... between working, kids and doing stuff around the house I get fuck all time to work on my own stuff, hell the box trailer in the back ground of a few pics ^^^^ isn't even finished yet ;)

Sounds like our lives are much the same mate, I wait till my girls are in bed then off to the shed for beer and bikes, some times just beer and a sit and think.

Small amount of progress to report, I had access to a sheet metal folder last week so I managed to sneak a few bits through for myself.

Light brackets.

http://i961.photobucket.com/albums/ae97/gqmad/bike stuff/005-1.jpg

Dash mount. Still needs final finishing but you get the idea.http://i961.photobucket.com/albums/ae97/gqmad/bike stuff/001-1.jpg
Bad pic of it roughly in place.http://i961.photobucket.com/albums/ae97/gqmad/bike stuff/003-1.jpg

The ignition barrel mount will be going from the top clamp so the gauges will sit closer than this, the barrel will be getting relocated.

The R6 subframe is with a mate who is a guru as far as tig and aluminium is concerned. If it can't be cut and shut to fit he's told me he could build a custom job to take the R6 plastics etc so now I wait for the phone.....

The dash won't be mounted where it currently is, it looks to bulky, sticks out too far for my liking so I'll have to see if I can make it fit behind the top triple.

The lights shown won't be fitted either, unless I fuck off the gay dirt bike shit that I have them currently mounted in....

Thinking about putting the dash here, any thoughts ?

Probably not many other options for your dash & it looks good there
The headlight looks much tidier, Them bars seem to be angled up quite a bit? Most bars should end up almost flat if you line up the forks with the bars from the side of the bike

A lot of the freestyle motocross riders like to roll the bars forward I think mostly for fashion cause someone else did it & the sheep follow, Lucky most of them only ride over jumps & they are not doing enduro's cause it is a terrible feeling with the bars angled up to me, Some of the TAG dirt bike bars seem to angle up at the ends for some reason?

Do them bars feel comfortable? Have they just not been adjusted to the correct position yet?

K6Thou
05-11-2012, 09:32 PM
The bars actually moved when I took the bike out of my van the other day when I bought it home..... I'm thinking the bars will be replaced with a flat fat bar.

I got myself a similar setup on the light brackets. (vmaxbits) not sure if i am too keen on them. think i may have to rethink. The clamps are fine so wacky if you come up with a better bracket let us know.

Otherwise the bike is coming along nicely although You may have some competition from me regarding which is the slowest build.

Nice work cum breath,is a reg/rec similar to an advanced/retard unit? I was gunna buy 1 of them but decided to save up for powerbands instead.i can get 3 powerbands for the price of 1 advanced/retard unit.It pays to be in "the industry" and know cunts that know shit.

K6Thou
07-06-2013, 10:16 PM
This bike has an adjustable power band cunty, I can set it up for max power early if I'm going for a ride in the morning or it can be set for longer trips where the power will take longer to arrive.

Reg/rec are the names ya mum goes by when she dresses as a man and does the cock for cash thing....

K6Thou

A smart man will purchase parts once and make them fit mate, aim is to build a bike that will use factory parts, but wouldn't look out of place on a bike dealers floor. Kinda a factory custom type of thing....

Probably would be, if he wants the title he is more than welcome to it. It's not something I'm too proud of lol.
It would seem that my laziness is the main reason for this build taking so long but anyone with kids and other hobbies that they share with their kids like fishing or just taking the little'uns to car/bike shows etc etc will understand that getting time to do what you need to do to the bike without being interupted is pretty fucking scarce.....
