why can't i seem to add an avtar pic?
every other forum i'm a member of i have been able to...
this one keeps telling me upload failed...
i have it saved on photobucket and my hard drive and have tried both..
any ideas about what i'm doing wrong?

after all that... my avtar seems to have appeared all by it's self even after telling me upload fail... wow.

Animated gifs are just another image file mate. Should load the same as a jpeg. Doesn't it work?

No I tried a couple and only got still pictures.

The GIF loses it's animation if it has to be resized by the forum to fit your allowed size.

Eg your allowed size is 75x75 bluedrags, so if the original GIF is bigger than 75x75, when it gets resized down by the forum, it loses the animation. It's the way resizers work, sorry.

Best bet is to use one of the online GIF resizers (eg http://resizepic.com/) to make it 75x75 then try uploading again :)

I can't even find where to put my avatar in.

I have gone to "my profile" then " customise" and I can't see an option to load an avatar.

Am I looking in the wrong place ?

Click on "settings" next to my profile then is it's in the left hand column :)

Awesome ! Found that bit but still unable to update the avatar.

But I only just got password reset tonight so maybe I'll leave it a couple of days and see if my permissions update or something.
