okk.. gonna look to do a classic street fighter based on a GSXR750 around a 93 ish.

Any suggestions on if i should use gsxr1100 forks (which i have) and re valve say with gold valves or get the newer gsxr750 or 1000 forks ??.

What sort of swingarms fit.. keen on a SSA conversion as long as it aint to much work :D or would again a more modern GSXR 750 / 1000 swingarm be better. Dont want to shag the geometry up to much as I want to ride the thing.

Thanks

Gordy

I would put newer forks in, and pick a swingarm that i like and put that in.

It's your bike dude, build whatever you want it to be, or use the parts you've got until you can afford the newer stuff. Thats what most of us do.

750 SSSA is an easy fit, 800 SSSA isn't so easy, lateish gsxr swingers are a fairly easy fit.

Having played with the old gsxr forks for racing(1990), i would recomend going with a newer set out of the GSXR750/1000 or any newer model bike, they are heaps easier and cheaper to get set up as far as valving, get a set of radials or whatever floats you boat, as Latheboy said.

Have to let me know what you do with it as I am looking at doing the same with my 94 model.

On my 95 7/11 im just about to convert it to 2007 GSXR 750 forks, reason Ive picked them is for colour mostly as they are black (besides better brakes). The bottom clamp needs to be replaced as the new forks are only 53mm and the old triple wont work unless shimmed, and I dont like that idea. As for swing arm, I still use the 95 unit as its braced and suits my frame.

definately go the newer front end. i have a 93 gix 7/11w track bike and a k5 gix 600 track bike and the 2 front ends are worlds apart. the brakes on the 05 are amazing compared to the 93 and the front end in general has less stiction and is so much better all round. the 93 has gold valves and 1kg springs the 05 has a 20mm ohlins valve set and 1kg springs.

easy descion really. plus the newer front end is lighter. so is the wheel if you can swap the lot. front end will come up easier if you are that way inclined
