well i do know something in the old site days "fuck that sounds old !!" we had 2 types of membership ?

The pictures are the same whatever. If you click the small ones that you upload directly to here (the easy way) then they open a big picture anyway. Try it. Even the big ones that are linked to photobucket or whatever open a new window.

The idea is to stop big-fuck-off pictures returning and people having to edit them all the time. The thumbnail version is the easy way as it's just find picture and load it up, although each account has some kind of limit to how many so we don't overload the server again.

There's an FAQ at the top of the page mate, have you read it? No offence but it seems to be a 'whinge first and blame the forum' rather than taking the time to read and work it out. Everything is new mate, you can't just expect it to be the same as before.

the wifes uncle is back from the states for xmas for two weeks ,"he is a custom painter so i was hitting him up for a tech question on a good way to paint the frame"
alright he says !if you get it to me by boxing day ill do the frame and swinger in black for you as he is doing a favour for a local custom painter, ,hows this ,we were having a chat last night and bushy is painting for CHARLLIE HUTTON aka boyd coddington and then chip foose now he is out on his own ??
now they must be doing another american hotrod series as when he goes back in 2 weeks he contracted to dwyane aka boyds to do an 32 ford for american hotrod. "fark if i had known he was comming back here the body work would have been ready for bushy to do aswell " oh well" dont know how to tell the wife and kids santas been and gone ,now ive a frame to do !!

thats the problem pav ,i gave him my gsthou body work 4 years ago and just pried it out his hands,with out paint done !!
he is always over in the states painting, my only prob is the handbrake ,i wanted to prep the frame over xmas and boxing day and give to him this morn ,but ive only got it half done ive tonight and some of tomoz to get it done ,otherwise opportunity gone till fuck knows,
put it this way pav with bushy he used to own "bushy rods and restos" in rutherford but got sick of doing mediocor jobs!
so he packed up and went state side as he cant get a green card at the moe he can only go for 90 days at a time with a minimum of 30 days here in between.
every time he paints a high end car,bike etc it ALWAYS pulls of best std paint,best custom paint etc
and if anyone is going to summernats charlie hutton is going aswell as a quest!! so hints and tips to his work could be had hmmmm

i know what you meen mate i had 1 bloke at work had his disco 2 towed in ,noise in engine my final qoute was $13184.29 for a good s/hand donk but fitted new turbo n shit ,he was stoked.i had spent at least 3 hours on his qoute aswell to win the job and i diddnt charge him for the 9 hrs dignosing, took it in his stride and now won him as a customer!
had another and i had to give him a qoute on a nissan and he shit himself at the qoute and said no thanks but freaked out when i gave him an invoice for 4hrs diagnosing !apparantly me and the boys at work are arseholes and dont know what we are doing because i charged him for work done "prick"

never done it before,exben told me to use display grade polystyrene foam,but i cant find who sells it !! so im useing the florists foam untill i make up my mind on the style of the pod , personally i want it to lay down more and tapper to the front tank mount so it blends in better.

mate thats exactly wat i wanted to do!!! i want to utilise the tank mount at the front and run an metal strip over the tank and secure on the filler mount lip !! like a GPS mount does for bikes!! and then include that mount into the pod as a 1 piece unit .

I had a pod on the tank of my 711 that ben made for me years ago, that had a trailtech dirtbike speedo in it. I though it looked good, and cleaned up the bars a lot. However, it was a pain in the arse to look at the speedo because you had to look down at the top of the tank. The old gsxr tank had a breather hump on it, which was an easy way to make attach it.

I think it'll need to be towards the front o the tank, and as flat as possible.

yeh mate ,the acewell doesnt use a speedo cable ,and thats why i wanted to run a pd to the front of tank ,so i can hide the elec cables then run it under the tank!!

one thing i was thinking of doing to the tank was lifting it up at the front an inch or so and making an inlet for airbox to get rid of the side intake!!

and if u dont think yr welds that good u can p15 line it .
part in and part out of the tank with it bare at the angle and distance that gives u best vis might look good
on one of russ's firrst tanks on his bike that didnt make the end result he had gagues in the tank and it wasnt hard
to run a tube from top to bottom thro tank. i think from mem he used a hole saw and then just a tac with the mig to hold it in place then i just brazed it(well silver solder) it up it was just easest way instead of mig or tig on the light gauge of tank to the thicker gauge of the tube.

basicly i took my RDO about 3 weeks late to paint the donk, soooo busy at work!! as in the thread prevosly i steam cleaned
the donk,then blasted it,cleand it again and again and again once more last night and preped it this morning,made my temp booth ,hope the wife doesnt notice one of fans is missing :cool:

the paint suppler didnt order my 2 k epoxy but thanks to pav he steered me on the right path .
this morning i called my sandblaster for my frame "sorry albi not done ,,c,u, this arvo"

so i got some VHT engine primer and away we go,done all the coats.

with the clear ,i never clean the gun prior to clear coat,in goes the clear with blue base coat still in pot,shoot the clear then clean the gun. why ???
well i do it because my belive is that the metalic in the base coat then floats in the clear giving a richer apperance!!! does it work ????

How do you go with splitting the cases/heads once they've been sprayed over mate? Does it chip and crack at the joins?

to be hounest si ,if i had to go that far ,id just sandblast again and paint it when its stripped for a better finish,either that or just use a new razor blade and cut it along the seams!!

thats why i painted all the outer and rocker covers sepperate,just for that reason,
