Hi guys from accross the pond here in Northern Ireland, this looks like a decent site you fellas got going here, i am in full winter build mode here on the north coast,,, so need you guys help here, i just bought a 929 blade to trash, but as the swing arm mounts on the engine and not on the frame like the earlier blades, its as clear a muddy water as too which VFR SSSA fits best, i have a machine shop at work, but want things as simple as possible, the later VFR's are engine mounted like the 929, just wondering how near they are,,,any of you guys help,,,i'm going to have a stab either ways, but would like any advise,, i have trawled the boards, but all ref is the older blades, with frame mounted arms, googled it but got nout but dung,,,

Cant say i've seen the 954, is the arm bracketed to the engine on that model as well? i did get a quick look at a vfr 800 v-tec, in my mates bike shop, i measured it, and its 280mm give or take a mm here or there, not ideal i know, but i was jammed between 2 bikes, and using a measuring tape, with the dopey end in orbit,,,

Ah bogy mate sounds like a dilema.

Im sure your already headed down this track from what you said but if the 929 bolts to the engine the same as the VFR all youd need to do is get the measurement between the Y at the front of the swingarm and then measure the width of the engine and go from there.

Or maybe if you can get the width of a VFR engine and compare that to your 929.

Ive got an VFR8 in my 94 blade it took a bit of machining of both the frame and arm to get it in there but anything is possible.

Dont forget youll proably be able to shave down the swing arm mount on the engine aswell so dont just presume it all has to come off the arm.;)

This probably dont help you at all but maybe i thought of something you didnt to help in the mod.

Remember pics of this mod are manditory on this site.:D;)

Good luck

Cheers damo, i read ur thread, but alass it was'nt that helpfull, more specific too the older blades.in hindsight, i should have bought an older blade, but i really wanted the usd forks, like the 929 models already have, so when i calculated out the xtra cost of buying and fitting the forks to an older blade, there really was'nt much in it, for the sake of a little less hassle i bought the 929, it was coming at handy money, i am in the process of trashing a bandit for my Mrs, so between that and working on my XJR, my garages looks like a breakers yard,is there any way i could upload a pic of my XJR, for some comments, its not totally hardcore, but looks smart, it was bought for crusing, but u guys know it never ends up that way, hence the blade purchase, i really want to hardcore fighter something, i am an engineer, so have my works machine shop at disposal, ill keep u all posted of the blade, kinda of need to know if an old type bandit swing arm(alloy for polishing) will fit into the newer model k4, from 2000-2003 i think? the arm on it is bogus looking steel,,,so looks well ropey,,,any help on these 2 fronts would be much appericated,,,good luck for now guys,,and if theres a way to upload o pic let me know,,,

the vfr arm fits no bother, both the 750 and 800,
a ducati arm will also fit, but the suspension is the wrong way around,
the speed triple is alot wider than the vfr and will require milling and then welding in plates to support it
