Grampians Weekend Ride now with pics

We started the other month organising a run up the Grampians.
Something different and head out west for a change.

A few of us decided to do it on the weekend of the 29th/30th.
All of a sudden it seemed to grind to a halt.
I've got the weekend off then. I'm going to the Grampians and staying there over night.

its either stay at troopers which will only be really good with a heap of us not a handfull or we can stay at the caravan park at hallsgap maybe or if worst comes to worst just come and stay at my joint its only another 100klms up the road

If we only wrangle a hand full then the caravan park will do. What about accomodation at say Stawell? Is there a pub there with rooms. Something like that would be ace.

Timbo. My place is about an hour out of the City (Melbourne). It should only take about 2 hrs tops to get to Halls Gap from here. You're welcome to crash here friday night.

hehehehehehe in all seriuosness it is not as good as the spur but it is good cos it is usually pretty quiet and there are plenty of roads to play on i have never had a police problem up there yet (touch wood...knocks on head) so all in all it will be a good weekend for a spin and a drink

If you go on Mount Victory rd, which is a good one, just make sure you dont go off the edge .... you'll never get your bike back ..

ok guys i have just got home from my ride down to the gramps and i must say its in the best condition it has been for years i was very surprised at how there was no-one was out and about to get in my way no cars or tourists only a hypermotard which was heading in as i was coming out .....now lets get down to business there is a carvan park called halls gap lakeside caravan park which looked pretty good for accom kev so maybe give them a try mate and i just thought i would let you guys know that i have clocked up 10,000klms on predator and he is running beautifull

But if the numbers are small, the stables if they are not booked could still be the go. Basicly double rooms, and bunk room.
Rod do beware of the plods, last time we went there it very nearly cost us both our briefs, Stawell traffic managment group, like playing out there too. And to this day i'll stand here saying we was not being silly, and plod was being the dick. you canot book 2 bikes with one roof mounted radar reading. So we had to strike a deal, slimey assed rednecked prick, that calls himself a rider.

Spent lots and lots of time out in the western parts of the state working, call it mispent youth[8D]. My ex[:o)] was from Portland, so did lots of traveling to and from. And I like to play in the grampions when I've got the time. And Donna and I have been going to troopers, everytime the head that way for 5 years. Halls Gap caravan park have Deluxe units for $100 a night. Sleeps 8. I'll call them tomorrow and hopefully there will be plenty of cabins for next weekend

Righto peeps. The Halls Gap Caravan Park has on-site vans and cabin vans available.

$50 a night for 2 in a van and $10 extra per person(sleeps 5)

$60 a night for 2 in a cabin van (like a cabin but no dunny, sleeps 5) and $10 extra per person.

I need to know definites by Wednesday so I can book ahead. I've also booked good weather with the bloke up-stairs, but he's been a bit of a prick latley:D

Firstly what an awesome weekend.thanks to Kev for his effort with the accomodation.and to all the boys for the entertainment
i don't think there is a safe roo left in the area and i haven't laughed so hard at the stealth elephant trying to ride any roo he could get his hands on. The road up the hll behind the park was simply mint and now has some new black lines to follow thanks to the mighty 636/gsxr/and zxr79 with the 2fithy giving the big kids a big hurry up most af the time.I reckon i did about 750 to 800 kays all up with only one small incident on the way home where a fucking elephant scrubber in a taxi try and change lanes through me. All in all a great weekend best we start working on some leave passes and bring on the next one.

Boys hows it goin. Yeah pulled up a bit sore on Sunday, and had me daily dose of a spoonful of cement for brekkie this mornin, and rolled up for work. Bloody went to the hossie on Sat night to get checked over, and spent half the night waitin for the nurse. The verdict: fit as a fiddle, bar a bit of bruisin. That was the best fun i've had in ages lads, but might of gone a tad hard 4 that corner though. Anyways u'll have to watch this space Mr Sexual for the photos of the newest streetfightered 250 kickin round. Cheers Lads.

Yeah no worries mate, its either gonna be a fightered 250 or i might throw 1 of those cheapo fairing kits off ebay on it. Haven't decided yet. The poor little thing has had a hard life with 4 drops so far,( only 1 was mine), but it just keeps comin back 4 more. She cranked up no worries sunday. There a bloody good bike to learn on.
