Anyone bothered to look into how the so called "anti hoon laws" affect us ?

I mean on TV all you see is the WRX wanna bees doin burnouts etc etc and all that other exciting car stuff.....zzzzzzzzzzz..... oops nodded off for a sec there... :D

Im just curious as to whether I can expect mommy to take my big wheel away if Im caught riding with no hands ? In other words will my propensity to wheelie away from basically every stopping situation eventually get my bike confiscated ?

There didnt seem to be any mention of bikes in all the hoohaa about the law [?][?]

What about "anti whining, weak kneed, nancy boy" laws
And of course there is always my favorite "anti every other bastard" laws

Preferably enforced with a 12 guage :D

Looks like its basically like this for those that cant be bothered reading... like me lol....

In most states its already in for cars and bikes... in a couple its not but its on the way probably this year.

In short.... do anything that the officer who pulls you up wants to call hoonin and your #$%&ed. Get caught 45 over and your #$%&ed.

And for those who REALLY cant be bothered read...

Well your just $#!@ed [B)]

from the "age" article
"The Police Minister said a decision on new laws could be made in coming months. While anti-hooning laws adopted in states including Tasmania, Western Australia, Queensland and NSW vary, seizure of an offender's car is a common punishment."

The cop who pulled him up Immediately called a RACQ tow Truck and Folded his licence in his hands. The cop was pretty pissed off obviously. How ever the bike is now impouned.

Have you seen the movie that the quote comes from? "The American Way" with Dennis Hopper. It's a fuggin riot, 1/2 a dozen vietnam vets in a stolen B52 bomber, who have spent 15 years flying over the US broadcasting a pirate tv station (they're all psychotic Psy ops specialists)

Hoon law changes to give police power to seize cars
Western Australian Police Commissioner Karl O'Callaghan says he hopes an adjustment to the anti-hoon laws will be made to allow police to seize speeding vehicles, including motorbikes.

The Commissioner says currently vehicles caught speeding cannot be seized under the anti-hoon laws introduced about two years ago.

However, the laws do allow police to confiscate the vehicles of motorists caught driving dangerously or recklessly.

Commissioner O'Callaghan is in Kalgoorlie today as part of a regional visit and has told ABC local radio he expects changes to be made later this year to allow police to seize cars and motorbikes caught driving at high speeds.

"We're hoping for a change to the legislation this year, where any driver or rider of a motorcycle who travels 45 kilometres or more over the speed limit would automatically come under the umbrella of the hoon laws, so that will change, we think this year," he said.

For the record if these laws are in action in nsw i got caught doing a wheelie on the way to work buy a officer of the law and all i got was a neg driving fine (after a big spell the cop gave me about how i must of been doing it on purpose coz he cant do that on his vtr 1000 gave me a ticket for not being in control of my vehicle??) so i dont think it affects wheelies.. allthough i think i have lost all the points on my licence!! any one hear of any ways to dogge lossing the points?? ive heard of one way but i want to know if it works from sombody else first.

typical pig - I could find a handful of bike coppers that could out wheelie, stoppie and generally outride you and most other riders who think there top shit.[8D][:X]

I've met some cops who could ride, even keep up with me, but none of them were bike cops. And I've yet to encounter a bike cop who could vaguely keep up (but that may be due to the crappy machinery they're on, as much as anything). I remeber talking to a bike cop one time, who let me off a speeding ticket, as long as I told him how to go so fast and effortlessly in the wet. One look a his bike tyres told me everything, purchased for durability not performance, and that was on a feckin great heavy K100.
