Whether you love their style or hate it this should be a decent event. This Sunday , 21-09-2008 , Deus are staging a swapmeet and bike show at their Parramatta Rd Camperdown shop. Swapmeet set ups at 6am , gates open at 8am and the show a bit later. I'll be taking a load of stuff in to unload and the XR600 Bobber to enter into the show. See you there.

A member of the club does work for them so we are on good terms with them. As a person that builds bikes , frames & tanks for others it's a good place to connect with people that have money & don't mind spending it . A single high end build a year would fund me for several regular builds so I'll put up with yuppies if it gets me what I want. Having had 2 frame builds cancel in the last few months it leaves holes in my book depriving me of funds that are needed for new machinery & to finish my Santee mono shocked GSXR so I have to deal with people that if I had more cash I wouldn't normally. We are aware of the feud that exists between Guy's Possie & Deus so I'm not suprised you won't be showing . Your loss .

If there are people out there willing to pay, I say exploit away. Its the capitalist way isn't it?
That being said I don't think I've ever seen a Deus bike that I've liked, but then again I'm just a girl. ;)[:I]

Who is Guy and what's it all about?

I've only seen the deuss stuff in the trader mags, some looks OK, some downright silly, like the 250 hillclimber, the question WHY??? has to be asked.

there is a long standing resentment between old school builders and deus.

Guy is Guy Bolton , Editor & Publisher of Greasy Kulture magazine. A great magazine for a specialised market . And real builders like myself really fucking hate people using the term Old School too . Deus prices are a sticking point with many people and there is a feud between some people & Deus . Hell , one of the guys behind it ripped me off about 18 years ago on a bike I bought from his Parramatta store and it took 6 months to get them to make it right so I'm not overly in love with them either . But , I like Brat Style bikes , it's a good place to show interested persons with a higher disposable income what I do and the more I do the better I get . So you put any personal feelings aside , leave the attitude at the door and try to fill those blank spot in the order book . Should be a good day all up but parking will be a prick with the trailler on.

Hmmm... I might hafta hang around in Sydney to catch this, I'm really keen to check this XR6 Bobber out & wouldn't mind having a good look over the Deus bikes.
Is it going to be 99% SR 500s Wayne or will there be some normal people/bikes there? ;)

I was gonna call in about lunchtime but I'm unsure if it's gonna go that long, considering it starts at 8.00am. Prolly still go regardless and knab a coffee.

Well , having given it some pretty heavy thought I'll bust my balls when I get home from work at 0600 and work on it all day to try & get it finished enough to take it down . If I do I'll be aiming at going there sometime between 0800-1000 and staying til after lunch . For those that don't know me I'll have either an ASF or a Garage Built Forever shirt on & be one of the tallest(& ugliest) muthafucka's there . Look for the red & silver rigid XR600 .

As for me , I have another 6 hours at work and alot of tedious shit to finish on the bike when I get home. About 14 man hours worth at a guess . Now were did I put that spare number plate ?

It turned out to be a good day. Swapmeet was a bit disappointing . the turn out of bikes was quality over quantity. Lucky Weaselman didn't go.There were a dozen Flatheads there and most were Barn Bikes . Some very tasty stuff indeed. What little there was of the swapmeet was pretty good. I got a brand new DNA headlight dirt cheap , a brand new Vance & Hines muffler dirt cheap and a set of Uber Cool brand new foot controls dirt cheap . Neo Dutch got a new Super Trapp muffler for $30 . The flat track parts for sale were the cheapest I've ever seen and that went for much of the stuff on sale.

Neo Dutch & I displayed the XR600 at the event. Got some really great feedback from people and got to talk with some great people there as well. Looks like I'll be busy straight after the XR is finished so thats me happy.

The negative. Venue was the carpark next door and it was just too small .

The tragic. When the guy was unloading the restored 56' Triumph Thunderbird with a hydraulic hoist off his ute and the hoist broke dropping the bike onto it's owner. Owner baddly bruised and bike minor damage.

The stupid. Well , there was a really nicely done Katana(why is it always the Katana riders) . The bloke launched the bike with the disc lock on and nearly dropped the bike. After removing the disc lock he gunned the bike and sort of mono'ed it in a street filled with people clipping several . If that by chance was you and you are reading this everyone thought you were a really big WANKER and several women were wiggling their little fingers . One of the women you almost ran over is the wife of a 1% club and they were actively trying to find out who you were .

I got there an hour later than expected and the swap meet was wrapping up but when I saw where it was, I didn't think I'd missed much.

Sorry I didn't get to see your bobber, chopa.

I ended up buying an On Any Sunday video package and watched it this arvo - still magic.
I watched OAS II tonight and it just pissed me off - the sped up footage of Bruce Penhall racing speedway is fkd! I forgot how crap no.2 is compared to the 1st OAS. I understand now why no.2 was left out of the OAS package that contains other bike films instead. I had to buy OAS II seperate.
