Headlights always on on xjr's ??????

Can anyone help me [?][?][?]
Do Australian model bikes have the lights wired on permanently ???
I only have a haynes UK manual for mine...And I can't work out if I should have a lights on switch or not......going slowly mad staring at wiring looms :(:(

Mate as far as im aware you do have to have the lights on.
I think it was after a certain year they made it compulsary but im not sure when.
Maybe ring your local m/c shop of the rta?

Not really :) mate. I'm moving the ignition switch off the top yoke to under the seat & I guess I can just hook up a switch to turn lights on/off.
Trouble is I am using the xjr loom for lighting and grafting in the fj ignition loom........so much fun fun fun[:o)]

My GS is a 91 and standard the lights could be switched off, but my 97 RF has the lights on all the time.
