After fighting through the drifts of mothballs and used porn mags i dug out my GPZ to replace my written off duke.
Dont let the old look fool you... I like old and i dont do chrome.

Pretty good nick for an old beastie. Is that a turbo model lower you've got on it?

Even though its a KZ engine it was a gpz badge and came with the full fairing as per the Turbo.

I would have left it all on but it was mint condition and i wanted to save it.

she's very tidy for her age :D most that ive seen have almost rusted away into nothingness,
i think with a couple of slightly smaller dog bones to lift her at the rear, and a trim down to that numberplate holder and remove that grabrail,
and she'll be spot on :D

Ok...
What are dogs bones and where do i find em...

As your the grabrail i gotta keep it cus the missus likes to hold on to it and the tail piece, well i need to fad something up.

I cant trim it because hidden in my house are all the original parts... Mint fairings and even the original pipes unrusted.

dog bones are the linkages between the swing arm and the cushion lever(the knuckle that is bolted to the fram and has the shock bolted to it)
if you make shorter ones it lifts the rear make longer and it drops the rear,
1cm shorter = 1inch taller (approx) just make them your self out a peice of 3mm flat steel bar,
20 min job tops :D

the pic below is a 88 gpz, and it looks like the dog bones are made from ali and curve around the shock,
as far as i can see you have 3 options make some out of a chunk of ali,
or if you happen to know some one with a large press you could bend up some steel ones to curve around the shock,
or make flat steel ones and make some spacers to push the dog bones far enough out to clear the shock.

Got off my arse and did some detailing.
Finally welded the pipe extentions on and cut down the rear plate guard. Also stripped the motor back and gave her some engine enamel. Cleaned the wheels too but they still need a polish.

Decided to change the view a bit. Got some tasty rearsets coming and will mount the pipes under the sump buell style.
