BIKIES sliced off a Gold Coast man's ears with a Stanley knife and told him they had a bush grave dug for him, police have alleged.
Three members of the Lone Wolves bikie gang faced Southport Magistrate's Court today charged over the gruesome attack last month.
Court documents allege the attack was over a $40,000 drug debt said to be owed by victim David Holmes.
Holmes, a 38-year-old father-of-three, was allegedly woken by gang members at his Currumbin Waters home on the southern Gold Coast at 5am on November 3.
Police allege one of the accused bikies, Aaron Drew Scheers, produced a Stanley knife and held it to Holmes' throat.
Holmes was then allegedly taken to a bush track near the Currumbin Rock Pools in the Gold Coast Hinterland where he was assaulted and questioned about missing money.
"The money related to a drug transaction that had gone wrong," police alleged in a statement.
Holmes was allegedly told a grave had been prepared for him further up the track as three other bikies arrived on the scene.
Scheers allegedly used the Stanley knife to cut off both Holmes' ear lobes and his entire left ear. He was also struck in the face with a bat and had a 13cm wound cut in his forehead.
Scheers was allegedly told to cut off Holmes' finger or cut his Achilles tendon as questioning continued over the drug debt.
According to the police statement, 'Scheers then commenced cutting the victim's right index finger but then stopped, saying that he now believed the victim because no-one could endure that amount of pain and not tell the truth'.
Scheers allegedly then walked Holmes further along the track, sat him in a gully, taped his ankles and mouth and told him gang members would be back for him in a couple of hours.
Holmes was bleeding profusely and drifting in and out of consciousness when he was found by witnesses, police stated. He said he had been abducted but refused to say anything further and was taken to hospital for immediate surgery.
Four days later, Department of Wildlife officers found one of Holmes' ears in the Mt Cougal National Park.
One of the accused bikies allegedly confessed to the crime which was hatched at the Lone Wolves clubhouse at Currumbin.
Scheers, 24, and fellow Lone Wolves members Raymond Kenneth Brooks, 30, and Benjamin James Dehnen, 31, faced court on charges including kidnap, torture, grievious bodily harm and committing acts intended to maim.
Solicitor Mark Bamberry said he would not be seeking bail for Scheers and a commital hearing was set down for June next year.
A bail application for Brooks and Dehnen was adjourned until Monday.
Two other men allegedly involved in the attack were being extradited from NSW.
