I hope the two of you are not going to be too hung over from the bber tour!!! We will meet at BP Armadale (Cnr South west hwy and Albany hwy) at 9:30am and aim to head off at 9:45am. I was thinking of heading straight out to Kingsbury dve, Serpentine along the highway and then work our way back along the Dams(Serpentine-Canning-Mundaring) then back down and maybe squeeze O'Briens rd in.
See you there.

Anyone heading out today?

13-07-2008, 06:11 PM
Well. Just got in. What a day. Just me and the two little bro's. Managed to get from Canning Dam across to Roleystone without getting too wet. Out Albany hwy across Serpie Dam. Up toDwellingup for lunch and a chat with one of Mel's left overs from the last drinking trip up there. Out to Nanga and down towards waroona. This is were it gets interesting. Just made it past the tunnel and came screaming through a couple of left rights and I check behind just coz I got a bit scetchy and I wanted to make sure everyone was OK. Lee was gone...FUCK. Turns out the poor buggar hit some water and low sided it straight into a muddy ditch. By the time I got back to him I was freak'n out. He was standing so that was a good start. The bike (the XJR SP) had slid along before going end over end a couple of times and ended upside down in the mud.
Tootled back home grabbed the ute and got out. Doesn't look good though. I think the frames bent. Least he is alive and uninjured.

i hate rides like that, glad to here he is okay though

13-07-2008, 08:25 PM
Yeah, it's not often you would walk away from dismounting at 120km/hr. Scared the shit out of me. the worst thing was that by the time I realised he was down, stopped and turned around I was about 1km down the road and two bikes rode straight past him and didn't stop!

Here it is. Got it stripped down and had a good look. I think it is amazing how well it stood up to the crash. Looks like mostly just levers, brackets, pegs, guages, fairing and bars that will need replacing. The rest of the bike is straight.

Glad to hear Lee is ok. I am suprised the bike didnt have more damage at that speed. Least it should be cheapish to fix

15-07-2008, 06:09 PM
I don't know about cheap $1300 for new guages apparently[xx(]. I think that it put the wind up him a bit, he's talking about fixing it up and selling it. One flipped Buel and know this...he thinks that's enough luck.

Hes not talking bout walking away from bikes all together??

16-07-2008, 11:01 PM
Yeah out all together apparently. I think the money is being assigned to finally finishing the LJ that's been in pieces for the last few years.
