A mate just fitted 8 inch chrome rims to his 14.
Hubs are GSX with heavy duty stainless spokes and front rim is 4.5 inch,
back tyre is a 210......

Saw Pete last week end, he was excited to be getting it on the road.
8 inch rim, holy shit thats bigger then my 2 rims put together.
Least traction won't be a problem. See ya at the xmas tree Pete lol

Took him 7 months and $4500 all up with spaces being the biggest drama with the back wheel,
and had to make the narrow axle fit the swingarm.

Joe Marshell (local Kat legend) was the man behind all the spaces and fitting.
Lacing was done bye a guy up the sunshine coast.
Will find out more next weekend.

It doesnt show up that well in the photo, but the whole rear hub is offset to the left by 3 to 4 inchs.

So why is he hiding it with that cat flap on the back? Bloody tasty looking wheels. That back must have been a nightmare just looking at the offset.

Joe did the wheel spacing and setup but ash from ashspokedwheelz@bigpond.com did the wheel building

faaark that looks shit hot - bit like the ducati sports that come out with the spoked rims over the last year or two (hmm wonder how hard duc rims would be to convert to the gixxer.....)

I have seen people spend three times that on carbon fibre bling shit for their bike, I dunno, if youve got the money it doesnt seem rediculous to me.

Very Retro, compliments the 1400 nicely.
