I want to change the color of my fork legs, and seeing as I'm not one to contract out jobs like this, can anyone give me some advice on the best method. Is there any recommended paint or things I should look out for?

conventional or USD?? You have RGV inverted... I have painted conventional lowers with Wattyl outdoor epoxy enamel satin black. 4 or 5 coats and looks good. Not sure about USD's though..?

The thing I'm worried about the most because they are USD, is scratching the paint when reinstalling the forks.

Maybe even a protective clear coat over the top...?

Wont that affect the thickness of the forks?

What about anodising them? Thinner coats should be possible

No-one locally does anodising. Painting them myself seemed the most logical answer.

who's davkat????

if u mask off EXACTLY where the fork legs will end up u might get away with it

use the old trick of a bolt into the triples from the wrong direction to spread em (but not too far!!! [:O])
