well i finally managed to get a single sided swingarm (2 actually. damn ebay) :D
so the mission begins :D the only problem with the speed triple swingarm is that its conderably wider than the vfr swingarm at a width of 285mm
but luckily the h1 is 280mm so i only need to shave off 5-10mm and i just happen to know a guy with a milling machine so thats kinda handy :D
any way ill update pics as they happen,

and finally my shed, yep air conditioned to the max, it has a few leaks when it rains :D

do you like my center stand?? very tech :D
hopefully i can get this done before the scottish winter kicks in,
fuck knows why im actually doing this, considering my visa runs out at the end of the year :D arhh being a kiwi bites over here, if only i was polish then i could stay as long as i wanted, we'll leave the poles out of it i think :D

ummm ill probly be back in the good hemisphere mid next year, i think ive got work lined up in norway for 6 months while the girlfriend finishs teaching the school year (mental that a school year is june to june) instead of jan to december.
so ill pass my time while she sorts visas and what not for nz :D i don't blame ya going to nz or oz is the best thing a brit could do, fucken chavs and neds are taking over the uk, not to mention all the eastern Europeans taking over as well, joining the eu was the dumbest thing he uk could have done

nah shes a 76 cb250g5 that i just rebuilt, :D a wee classic :D slow as hell, shell do 120kmh cruising, but you don't want to stop in a hurry from that speed, the front brakes are useless,

its a speed triple swing arm not a vfr arm, im not sure what the width of a vfr swing arm is, although its narrower than most bikes i hear (which would of been the way to go)
but i like the look of the triples wheel so i went for that, now i have to mill it down,
im lucky that the h1 has a wider swing arm than the later models :D

What are you talking about mate? It doesn't rain in scotland... I was there for a week in december and it was nothing but blue skies - didn't turn shit till I went back down to london.

you forgot the all important grinder :D its been the most well used tool in my arsenal of fighter weapons :D
its pissing down with rain now!!!
still waiting on my bearings turning up so i can use the zxr pivot bolt,
i talked to my mate about a milling machine
yeah mate, we got one errrre' (rolling of the rrrs :D) brrring it ooverrgh and we'll sorrrt it :D
sweeet!!! one less thing i have to worry too much about, it has to be milled down about 3-4 mm on each side,
still waiting on the other arm turning up, so im still unsure if ill use the speed triple shock and knuckle(cushion lever) or stick with the zxr one, i think the speed triple has more settings, but i don't fuck around with all that shit any way :D
and of course i still gotta find a wheel,

well i have made some progress :D
first off my make shift rear set :D untill i buy a new set,
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/DSCF1116Small.jpg
quallllaaaty :D it does the job for now,
next on my cards is the exhaust system,
since i wanted something that didnt have a little nozzle, i thought my best bet was a motocross can
so i got this fmf can off ebay
http://i15.ebayimg.com/07/i/000/b9/43/ab5c_1.JPG
a nice titanium can,
i had to get the link pipe modified to fit the can and place it where i want, looking at it you would never know it has about 7 cuts and welds, the job is that good,... i tell ya its handy knowing a guy who has been welding stainless for nearly 50 years :D
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/DSCF1132Small.jpg
and heres a side on shot,
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/DSCF1131Small.jpg
and from behind
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/DSCF1130Small.jpg
i will stubbie it a bit so it just comes out at the wheel :D
surprisingly it is a very mellow sound, i expected it to be screaming like my original ugly race can,
i still have to lift the rear as i was sliding backwards under acceleration today, that'll be my mission over the weekend, and fix the damn leak i have aquired today from the shifter oil seal, bastard thing :D

its probably quite cos its meant to flow the gases of a 50cc dirt bike :D

please tell me you arent going to be riding with that left rearset! [:O]

hmmmnz

the can is a straight through system for a wr450 the internals are exactly the same as a normal race can,
i had no issues with the make shift rear set today when i went for a 100 mile ride, it holds my weight standing up,
its just ugly, ive got a rear set on order, but who knows when they'll turn up, so it was that or not ride it,
and it is the zxr rat fighter after all, any thing to make it work will do :D

fairy nuff

the plate for the sets must be stainless then? thought it might have been aluminium, could see it flexing into the path of the swignarm [XX(]

hmmmnz
26-10-2007, 10:13 AM
nar its just ali plate, :D there are no scratches on the swing arm behind the plate, so i can only assume, its far enough away not to touch the swing arm if it flexs :D needs must i tell ya, :D

26-10-2007, 02:08 PM
hi ,question for ya,would you not make that exhaust a high level,so as to show off the whole wheel....

hmmmnz
26-10-2007, 06:59 PM
nah i personally hate high level cans, they look ok on some bikes, and i didnt have enough tubing even if i did want too :D

well heres an update on the subframe,
i angled it upwards quite a bit, and used a old srad subframe i had to make the supports and welded i all together,
i still have to modify the seat unit to fit a bit better but she's coming along :D
