Yeah, was shown yesterday.
Weighs a F@ckin' ton and its shaft drive.
"fastest accelerating production bike ever"
Yeah, had all those story's about the old V-Max, and that still
got it's arse kicked everywhere. Even if it IS, its still only
a one trick pony.
I'd bet good money it wont upset all the Turbo Busa's at the strip,
in any shape or form, and its sure going to get a beating on the street. The "Fastest bog standard bike in a straight line over a short distance" doesn't have the same ring to it.
Yamaha made a proud boast that it will run a "9.??"
That'll be just like the two bog standard B-Kings i've seen do.
Bring it on.....;)
I see it as more of a V-Rod with balls.
Jealous ? NO, just disapointed.
If it's better than a B-King i'll buy one,
just hoped for a bit more competition.
"My opinion is not fact..;).."
The blurb I qUOted was just the hype from Yamaha.
We all know the reality :D
Power to weight ratio and loss of power through the shaft drive says enough.
Still like the looks of the big beastie ;) Isnt it somewhat large ?

Yeah.
Im trying to keep an open mind and hope its real good.
Lets hope its a Bruiser not a Cruiser.
Pleased to see that they went for a 200 rear, not a silly 230 / 260 or bigger,
...but....
"Wet Weight 683 lb / 685 lb (CA model)"
....isn't that about 310kg !.......[:0]

On the B-King forum.....
Just recieved this months issue of CYCLE WORLD. Even with a ringer 130lb rider and a fresh application of VHT sprayed on the track for better hook-up, the best the Max could muster was 10.26 @135.8mph in the 1/4 mi and 5.9sec 0-100mph. The same magazine tested the B-KING earlier in the year without a light weight pilot and special track prep recorded 9.93 @ 141.63 mph and 5.3sec 1-100mph.
Considering I ran a 10.39 on a box-stock B-King with 40psi in the rear and im a Joe-average numptie who hasnt seen a strip in 2 years, I dont think their times were too flash ?
