EFE 1100 being 1150cc

Hi, I bought my first Kat 1100 in 1981.
all engine cases were silver with chrome on outer rocker covers.
My current KAT is also stamped as 1981 but some engine cases are in gloss black which looks like factory paint. Rocker
Covers look like milled alloy?

Any Ideas appreciated.
