WinterNationals 5th,6th,7th,8th June 2008

Myself, Pappa Smurf and Abusa have entered the Winternationals held at Willowbank on the 5th,6th,7th,and 8th of June. Sharky and Zedsled will be there giving us a hand, it would be great to get some of you blokes and blokettes there for some well needed support (cheering, umbrella girls/blokettes or just to point and laugh), This is the biggest drag racing event outside the USA.

Gates Open at 9am

Qualifying from 1.30pm - Group 2, 3 & 4;
Friday

Gates Open at 6am;

Qualifying from 8am - Group 2, 3, & 4;

Feature Qualifying from 5pm - Group One

Saturday

Gates Open at 6am;

Qualifying and Racing from 8am - Group 2, 3 & 4;

Feature Qualifying from 11.30am - Group One
Sunday

Gates Open at 6am;

Racing from 8am - Group 2, 3 & 4;

Opening Ceremonies 11.30am

Feature Racing from 12noon - Group One

That's right boys & girls, the Winters are upon us.
As Shayne said, this is big, officially recognised as the worlds BIGGEST drag racing event outside of the USA.[8D]
The racers call it "THE BIG GO" for obvious reasons.:D
It's also the last championship round of the season & there are still a few classes that are not wrapped up.
Racing will be awesome & i'm predicting record breaking performances in a few classes.

This is going to be HUGE.

What day the best to see you guys in action,keen to see the motards as well,may go both days.We can get a group together and make a day of it and ride up via Beaudesert

Our schedule is
Thurs about 2pm qualifier 1
Friday about 8.30am qualifier 2
Friday about 12.00pm qualifier 3
Saturday about 8.30am elimination round 1

If we get through 1st round we go to Sunday starting at approx 8.30am.

If you want to see ALL of the group 1 racers, that being Top fuel,
Top Bike, Top Alchohol, Top Doorslammer, Pro Stock & Pro Stock Motorcycle, then Saturday is the day to go to see all there qualifying.[8D]

hey puppet, if you think drag racing is easy or boring you know nothing about the sport, and i doubt you would have the skill to be any where near competive, stick to riding around the city streets on your 100 hp bike thinking your quick and stay away from any race track. that way your fantasy of your self remains in tact.

Yeah, he probably rides a highly un-modified Hyosung or some other under powered piece of shit like many others around here & thinks stunting consists of riding from pub to pub drinking Bourbon n coke on Sundays.

Cant wait to get stuck in the 2hr traffic jam trying to get out of the place!. (I'd take the bike but we usually cart heaps of shit)

The last time I went they sent all the "gold coast" spectators out the back, up some whoopty ass long dick hole of a back road. then sent them right at the highway, into the darkness, via boonah. I remember at least 4-5 cars on the side of the road out of fuel. at 11pm there are no servo's between nerang and willowbank via beaudesert! (unless ur tricky and can find the 24hr eftpos one here in town)

I love the sting of the top fuelers. its a good time if your lungs feel like fire.

A very mixed weekend for us.
Racing wise not so good, got through the 1st round with some luck from the racing gods.
The bloody thing pulled out of 1st gear into second on the lanch:( thank christ the other bloke redlit.
Seocnd elimination it did it again only this time the track was so fuckin sticky it just grabbed the rear tyre & stalled the bike.
All over:(.
On the upside we caught up with heaps of old friends from all over the country & made a few new ones as well.
Had a few drinks & so many laughs that we woke up every morning with sore stomach muscles.:D
We have 3 months or so off now so plans are already being made for some major upgrades & improvements...

Hey Russ, Thanks heaps for all your help mate, it was a pleasure to have you there & Michelle was wrapped.

That was a 1.65 60ft breaking the beam with the rear wheel, apparently all my launches are like that, never realised the bike got that high!

I got knocked out First Round as Sharky mentioned, unfortunately I had brain fade on the line, rolling off the throttle ever so slightly to give the clutch a breather from staging at 12000rpm for too long waiting for my competitor, bike rolled back and had to push forward again tripping the red.

Was a good weekend all in all, lots of excitement in the Group 1 Categories, of note 4 Door Slammers went in to the 5's, and Zapp wasnt one of them, 2xBray, 2xJudd, Lynch & Stevens!
