kinda miss it now that i'm not there the country shuts down

Not meaning to seem ignorant but who had colonised Norway in the first place for the country to need to gain independance?

I was always under the impression that Norway's founding population were the Seafaring Vikings that Scandanavians have to thank for their ancestry and that were slowly colonising the Northern Hemisphere.

My wife is Finnish and I know that her family ancestry can be traced back to Viking heritage
(One was called Erik, hehehehe, Erik the Viking, pretty cool;)). Finland was forced to serve under the Russian Empire until
1917ish but yeah, I thought Norway was just Noway.

well norway is about 1000 years old
but we where ruled by the swede's and dane's back in the 17 and 18 ct.
and we got our ind. in 1814.after kicking the swede's and dane's ass.
later we adopted a king from denmark king Haakon
and as fore me i'm related to a viking king called king olav the holy
my famely is wery old

Yeah, we're wanting to see what a real winter is about, not this pissy -4 that we get in Canberra :)

Its 5 deg at the moment and enough people winge about.
In the hills it -4 and the windchill is -42:D

I'm just waiting to get a new fourby, hopefully in about a month. I swapped my Hilux for a bike a few months ago and now I'm itching to get up in the hills and play about, especially now that there is snow starting to fall.

It rarely snows here and if it does it doesn't hang around. It snows in the hills behind Canberra most years though.
