I need a new oil cooler, has anyone used/use one of these, and know or think it will be sufficient to run with?
It doesn't have a capacity on it anywhere!

What's the bike? And why do you need a cooler?

Yeah sorry, 89 gsxr 750!
Old one has a slight leak, and it looks like shit.
Don't really want to spend all this time and cash on the buld, then put the old cooler back on!

Yeah, the original one wouldn't be hard to solder up, but this one looks pretty cool.
Only 70 bucks, might grab it, give it a shot, doesn't work I'll swap it.
Cheers mate!

Yeah i've got one of the crappy curved ones, if anyone has a nice flat one for a gixer 1100 then let me know aswell. Sorry to crash Ashg, you'll get first dibs obviously.

Just another thought too, total hijacking here btw... anyway, with the curved coolers, is it possible to spin the cooler so it ise curving the other way. Im having an issue with my indicators hitting it. Will this cause any cooling problems if i do manage to spin it around?

or go for bar end indicators

Oh Ashg, just remember that the expensive part isn't so much the cooler, what you are going to find expensive..(prob more than the cooler) will be the hoses and fittings. They don't come cheap. Maybe try one of the ones with the fittings already with it.

I've added one to a Bandit 1200 awhile back . Little bit fiddly to get sorted and I had to get new hoses made but the owner still has it on his bike and it still goes well. Frankenbiker makes very nice hose set ups that will adapt it to your bike. Just ask the seller for the bore of the inlet first and compare that to you bike.

Supercharger Mark has that exact cooler on his Fighter. (It's also inverted and sprayed black). It will work fine mate. As Seifer pointed out the lines will cost you if you use braided jobs (although Mark also found a trick and neat way around that) and you will also need to find a way to mount it (a trip to your local Smart Aluminium outlet is on the cards). Let us know when you get it and we'll fill in the blanks as and when you need the answers:
