Ahh, thanks. I was thinking it was something like the I.D etching you can get done on car windows etc. That sort of shit but I was way off.

It's a European compliance marking. Meaning that that part has been tested and meets the European standard for that type of component . As the European standard is the same or better than the equivalent Australian Standard they insist upon "E" stamped items like blinkers , lights etc. It effectively means that it's harder for the cops/RTA to defect you if the blinkers etc are "E" stamped. With most Engineers they insist on "E" stamped parts that are on a modified bike before they will pass it.
