Deathrock rules, I was breast fed, still am..
It beats the shit out of listening to sandi thom that warbling fucking twanger, i find it cringe inducing listening to every line wafting out of her malodourous vegan hippy yap trap. As if commercial radio stations arent already polluting the place with happy smiley pop shit that is barely audible to anyone out of puberty, they have to put that shit on phones as ringtones so we suffer every time some flowery cunt who thinks being horrendously stupid is cute gets a phone call. Fuck pop shit, ive been playing in punk an death bands since i was 14 an i love it to the point where i dont see breaking down doors and kicking keyboards to peices as a crime, moreso a public service hehe.
Fuck em
Oh, and those guys are not bad, they got an album out?

There's a lot of music that falls into categories between that screaming death shit and the britney/mariah shit. So just cause you don't like it doesn't mean you like pop.

Hey Handsome, I never asked before. You always bag this genre (and I'm pretty sure you don't play an instrument as you would know that it isn't out if tune), but what is the Large tune of choice. I have you down as a Dire Straits kinda person, with maybe some Foo Fighters on your rebelious days. Fill in the gaps for me.....

I don't always bag this genre. The shit Stu was playing last year in the van in Dubbo was good. Just like I don't always bag Rap crap. Some of the shit Roly plays is utter crap...but every now and then one of the spearchuckers remembers his rythyms and comes outr with a gem

It's just that (imho) that particular noise had no tune or direction. It actually reminded me of an abo that used to sit outside Hoyts cinemas in the city about 20 years ago and bang out of time on a paint tin while singing tunelessly.Only those blokes have a 5000w Amp

As for my preferred genre...well I don't think I can be pigeon holed that easily. I used to be a big fan of both The Who and Queen...go figure...But I've decided I like the song rather than the "artist", so in my playlist you'll find anything from Metallica, Radio Birdman, The Saints, Pulp, The Smiths, Madness, New Order, REM, Queen,INXS, Hunters And Collecters, Fatboy Slim, Moby to Some of the modern stuff they're playing on JJJ these days (Finally the king is dead...) Even some of the Outkast type rap is worth listening to.

As for Dire Straights, Romeo And Juliet is pretty hard to beat when I'm out on the rollerblades and wired for sound. [:p]:D

That whole sound is polished (top video by the way) and highly produced, but you still have the German vocals which just don't seem to cut it for me. For the same type of sound with English (even though they are from Sweden) I reckon Soilwork has it sorted: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=chFBHMUUMl8&feature=related

Yeeeeeeeeeeeah in flames rules. I have to agree with large, you dont have to be a musician to appreciate a good song, and if you break metal down into its various instruments individually sometimes its easier for the listener to appreciate the workmanship involved.. so if you havent already seen this guy, metalhead or not, you gotta be amused if not astounded at how this guy derek roddy drums...

dunno if anyone knows of Psychrist but a mate was the drummer before they split. We were out and mashed one night and he decided he'd use his 'fame' to get laid. In the middle of a big Sat night crowd he yells "who wants to fuck the drummer from Psychrist". The only interest he got was about 5 metalhead blokes.

The lead singer Till Lindermann is a qualified pyro technician.
at one show they spilt a shit load of kero all over the floor, and old mate cleaned most of it up, but left a bit on the floor. when the crowd was packed in ready for the first song, the flame thrower he set off lit the fumes on the floor and the entire crowd was engulfed in flames split second!

but most of the other songs on their albums are fucking awesome.their old stuffs better, and dont have gay vid clips to them, like killswitch engage I prefer their old stuff. and well rammstein are still good, but I prefer the first album over all the new ones.

If ya want a good live show you can't go past Killswitch Engage. I saw them, Soilworx and some band I can't remember support Anthrax about 5 years back. It was just fucking tuff.

One good thing about living in Canberra was Metal For The Brain (tho I liked it more when it was at the ANU, it was so much smaller you'd end up getting pissed with all the bands after their sets) and when it was around, midyear metalfest.

Those that are around in the Canberra scene a few years back might know the Rockape, (Regge's old place before he drank it away). It was a shitty, dirty place but some fucking great metal bands came through there.

that right there is my type of music. heaps of F*CK you shouting, then breakin it up with decent vocals.
that actually involves talent and you dont have to gargle road base of a morning to keep your "hard core growl" in tune
