Ok, last night on here for a few weeks, but thought id post up what we been doing and why.
Aside from the chaos with the table arriving and havin to get external fabrication and blasting jobs out the way, weve had to build this trailer to suit the new pump which arrived on fri arvo just gone. It started off with holden rims hubs and brakes, then upgraded to landcruiser running gear and started building the frame based on rough figures from the pump supplier..

This is our smallest pump to date, we still have to change the head rods and sleeves from 2400bar to 3200bar, that was a mistake by the suppliers who were ood enough to fly out the parts from germany and its fresh out of the crate so should be a breeze, one more last minute thing we dont need though, tomorrows gonna be a long day..

Azrael
11-08-2008, 11:44 PM
Um what exactly are you chasing? The guard? like a hugger?
Abel, you wouldnt be the first, i drove into the wrong street last week.. I never claimed to be smart..
Eukanuba
12-08-2008, 08:25 PM
Azrael: yeah, a bit like a hugger.. like the photo of the " Cat Bike " - last pic on that thread that I posted up..
I'm just looking at that, and 3 new disc's.. 2 for the front - 1 on the rear...
Is that gonna be alot of work ?
I'm thinking of a chequer plate, with the pattern on the face side - of course..
Azrael
12-08-2008, 09:12 PM
Ok, cant do the cat bike rear gaurd at the mo because im still in the process of making forms for tube and sheet bending, english wheel etc and honestly dont have the time to fuck about doing it the hard way. The disks are no prob to cut, what im trying to find out in the limited spare time i have is brake disk material and whether i need to temper or treat them some how before use. The other thing about disks are they are usually full floaters which means sourcing the rivets to fasten them to the disk hub, that shouldnt be a prob.
Cutting them is not a lot of work, drawing them depends on how fancy you want to go? Was this what you wanted the chequer plate pattern in? the disks?
While we are on the subject of brake disks doe anyone have any info on composition, treatment etc?
Azrael
12-08-2008, 09:19 PM
Oh, on the guard thing, if you can find an existing guard at a wreckers etc i can definatley modify it to suit without too much fucking around as long as it's not Ally! Both of my tig's are in at gentronics getting serviced as one has an issue with switching to high frequency and the other is having a new torch switch wiring thingy done.

Nah, I was thinking about having the chequer plate pattern on the outside of the wheel guard..
As for patterns in the brake disk.. that's an interesting proposition right there.. wonder if we could do something with " ZXR " or some such around the disk.. could be interesting.. and completely custom ! :)
Looks like you have opened a can of worms here Tom...
Funkenfresh
12-08-2008, 10:55 PM
cut WASF a few times in it
Eukanuba
12-08-2008, 11:32 PM
Now, that sounds like a funken good idea !
Can you picture a brake rotor with W A S F at 4 points around it ? that's just blowin my mind :)
Azrael
13-08-2008, 01:25 AM
That shit is a cake walk, i can write anything into the disk, want wave rotors?
Chequer plate wheelguard is waaaaaaaaay too much fucking around in ally or steel.. my advice, fibreglass one and air brush it, i have the stencil for chequer plate somewhere if you want it.

13-08-2008, 08:14 PM
Hey Bear, Im not making the rollers, same as you, just the frame etc, I found a supplier of the wheels not that long ago but i cant find the bit of paper i wrote it on, they ere suprisingly cheap, ill email you the details when i find em.
Oh I have a full diagram of a metal hammer too somewhere if you want it.
Cheers. I'm interested in the hammer also.
Got any diagrams of the english wheel also? There's heaps on the net but me not being experienced with them, I don't know which ones are duff and which are good.
gibbo
13-08-2008, 09:38 PM
English wheel[?] power hammer[?] I'd be interested in those drawings too :)
I'm liking those heel plates as well, are you selling them mate?
As for disc material ask Ivan ( Latheboy ) he made some up a while ago.
Azrael
13-08-2008, 09:48 PM
Ill find the drawings and pics an email em to ya's or if i can find the old link theres a diy on how to build both somewhere that i saw.
I can make the heel plates easy enough just need the bolt spacings for individual bikes, can cut em in flame shapes or whatever if your chasing a particular theme.

13-08-2008, 10:56 PM
