Hi. I'm relatively new to owning bikes, although I've been pillion freight as long as I can remember!
Got my first bike (1981 GSX250) only two years ago, and now I'm riding a Monster 620.
The gsxr pictured is to be my streetfighter. I bought it ages ago for a good price, and the plan was to kind of graduate to it as THE bike I'd keep. Since then I stacked the monster (it's back on the road, as am I), and now my wrists can't handle the racing bars. So, the gixxer's going to be modified.
Been visiting this site, along with extreme creations and many others, and I figured it's about time I joined.
So, here I am!

P.S. What's the RTA ruling on integrated taillight/indicators? Will it pass a blueslip?

Yeah, losing weight's the big thing too. Dropped it a couple times at no speed, and I can't pick the beast up! (I weigh 60kg myself - can't even get it on the racing stand by myself!)

I'll be seeking plenty of advice with the project. I'll need it!

My daughter's looking forward to learning, so I'm keeping the GSX. It's going on loan to one of my sons for a while... if I don't decide to start playing around with it too.... hmmm... might be a good starting project.

Morrigan, you can leave the integrated indicator setup on but you need to have a pair of indicators at least 300mm apart. Doesn't mean you can't have two sets. ;)

Just whack on the old one's, if you still have them. Just in case you were going to ditch the integrated set up. :)

It's going to be a long, slow process for me. I've only just begun to learn how to work on the bikes - the little gsx has been useful in that respect. I don't have a garage, so all work has to be done under the carport (weather permitting). Once I move to Dubbo, it should start to come together, but I don't know when that will be. In the mean time, it sits there taunting me and I look at lots of photos and search for parts.

Oh come now! That was the limited edition anniversary paint job!
I like the red though, and intend to stay with the red/black, but possibly with a snakeskin effect.
I already have security worked out...
