cheers for the ride fellas (even if it was only to berowra and back for me LOL), sorry i had to bail early, good to finally put names to faces. My mate had a ball too and cant wait till the next one. Big thanks to rod and jim for sorting everything out.

And weaselman, after talking about "you know your a streetfighter when..." - 5 kms from home my mate starts beeping at me frantically, "your number plate has fallen off". Saved only by the wiring from my indicators. Lmao. bolts vibrated loose. Just took it easy the rest of the way with every next person giving me funny looks as they passed.

2 hour wait for a 20 minute ride...

It was nice to catch up for a chat but fuck me, that was ridiculous.

Jockney Rebel
18-05-2008, 07:50 PM
originally we were gonna go up to woolumbi[bout 90ks] but im told the roads shite and we couldnt do the old rd cause of the amount of old bill flying around [noone wants to poodle up there at 60kph] so wisemans the best alternative as theres very rarely any cops on it so u can safely give it some without gettin nicked

I turned around not far after the Berowra ferry.
I had stuff to do at 1 but I wanted to go around a few corners before I headed home.

It's hard keeping up with some of you fellas. [8)]
Good to put names to faces (although I'm farked remembering names) and it was a good eye-opener ride for me.
Busted my cherry, so to speak. :D

A few of us tail-enders almost took a wrong turn early in the piece.

One of the things I enjoyed the most was checking out other peoples bikes as we rode along.

I might have to do some sussing out in the south and return the favour with another ride. If anyone wants to show me some ways or ride with me, let me know.

I reckon Weasel should get a pair of those pants the cop had on. They'd match his mowhawk. ;)

Thx for the top day out Jim. Great turn out from the boys, too.

Sorry I was a bit late turning up - that's what happens when you have to drive from Sydney to Gosford just to blag a bike to go for a bloody ride - and apologies for slinking off so early sun AM... although I wasn't the only one up at that ungodly time. As I hit the freeway I joined up with Mr Ware himself heading down to the Sport Compact meet @ the 'Creek, looking very much worse for wear (pun intended!).

Make sure you thank your missus for letting the boys take over for a night!

I definitely reckon we do a southern run next month - maybe meet at Loftus oval & head down through the National Park to Stanwell Tops & then on from there? I haven't done that one for years - anyone know if the roads are still OK (both surface and police-wise?).

Bear
19-05-2008, 11:31 AM
I'm gonna sus out those runs over the next few weeks. Anyone wanna join me or show me the ways? :D

Ill be keen for the next one as long as its not on a saturday [:p]

Billy Bob
19-05-2008, 04:46 PM
Yeah i live near stanwell park, the last ride we organized for here we met up at Loftus oval rode through the national park, good road but mossy in some sections can become slippery, then we headed down to the maquarie pass had a pie at Robinson then down through Jambaroo valley, back up the freeway to stanwell tops, If you go through the nasho early enough all you will come across is cyclists no cops there still in bed, maquarie pass is to much of a winding road for them they cant get you speeding(or catch you i should say) have to be careful of leaf litter same deal as the nasho, lots of bikes and cars congregate at Robinson pie shop could be coppers around there. all up its a bloody good ride just have to keep your wits about cornering. Then could have a few beers at Helensburgh pub. let me know Bear im sure a few of us dont need to much convincing.

Jockney Rebel
19-05-2008, 05:24 PM
im sure the C.O. will give me a weekend pass for that one as long as i get some digs so that i dont have to drink OJ ..lol

Weaselman

I think next run should be south around the kiama bends to berri than up to kangaroo mountian stop at the pub for lunch (Tis good there) then across to robertson and down macqurie pass. Thats a wicked run.
Im not a fan of waterfall national park anymore cus the road is shit and its full of maniacs.

Lucas
19-05-2008, 05:54 PM
I want to try to get a southern run going, out from Canberra to Cooma, Bombala, over the Brown mountain to the coast, up to Batemans Bay for lunch then either over the clyde or up to Kiama and to where ever from there. It'll have to wait til it warms up a little now though. The roads south of here will be starting to ice up a little soon.

Cruisecontrol
19-05-2008, 05:57 PM
The Kangaroo Valley road is shite. Nice views but the road itself is pretty poor.

Weaselman
19-05-2008, 07:02 PM
well what do you suggest?

Bear
19-05-2008, 07:05 PM
Anything wrong with a run like this? Could do it in reverse too.

Billy Bob
19-05-2008, 07:32 PM
Awesome, how about a little further to berry then over browns mountain to moss vale up through Mittagong onto a beautiful little country pub in picton for one of there own brews and feed then back up

Bear
19-05-2008, 07:55 PM
That looks good too, Billy.
I'm gonna get me a handlebar mounted GPS this week and sus out the roads I drew in the map and go from there. I just tried to avoid the highways as much as I could and find as many twisty mountain bits that linked up.

May be able to do an alternate ride to Berry after this ride? Always good to have alternate routes up the sleeve.

That big Pub in Picton still active?

Billy Bob
19-05-2008, 08:01 PM
Yeah mate a couple of young blokes from the city bought it for 4 mill but the old owners took all there knowledge of making there own brew, so the young guys had to learn quick, they have some nice beer but not as much variety as what the old owners had. They did a tv show about them but cant remember the name of it.

Hey Stephen,
good to see you have joined mate, don't forget to introduce yourself in the "Welcome to the Madness" area. For those who made it to Saturday's ride, Chase was the guy on the Kawasaki ZX6R.

OK Guys and Gals, excellent to see so many people keen for another ride, so everyone has enough notice lets get the ride organised for June. I will be up in Queensland June 14th so that week-end is out for me, how about JUNE 21st? I agree the ride should be South of Sydney this time so lets get our heads together and nut out a decent ride and confirm the date as it will be getting cold very soon and the rides in July and August may be shorter runs to the Pub. :D
