My bike looked exactly the same.. though mine was an 82 model from memory... either way.. was a quick bike, enough power to pull away from any turtle out on the dusty tracks.. I use to hoot around on it with a nice big stackhat on : ) sounded unreal with the pipe off.. : )

I had it for 11 years and in the last few years I had it I was spending about $1500 a year on shit like gearboxes and radiators opr rust repairs. I figured I was only doing about 500k a year in it so with rego and insurance it was costing me $5 a kilometer.

Nearly broke my heart to sell it but I have to keep telling myself it wasn't an R/T or anything tooo special

I thought half you lot were born with bikes grafted to your ass cheeks.

I'd post something up about the car I wish I never sold.. but to be honest I have never got rid of em !!, shitboxes rusting away in the paddock, slowly but surely sending them off for scrap tho.

how tippy was it being so jacked up?? we had a zook with a 4in lift and sitting on 31's (huge under a zook) and it sat solid. A mate has a patrol ute sitting on 35's with about 6in of lift. Get to about 80kmh and it flops about like its made of rubber.

If your mate patrol handles that bad it is set up wrong, the ol 40's are an attension getter not the best performers but still good fun.

I regret sellin my Z1000 but it has gone to a good home. I will part with my first borne before my ute though, even if it sits in the yard covered in spider webs.

It actually handled ok. It had flat ass original leafs with the load bearing leaf removed and the knuckles cut and rotated for a factory pinion angle and the caster set at the factory 1 degree. The lift only came to about 4-5 inches and was great offroad and at speed.

If your mate has a 6inch lift in a patrol I will bet money that his caster angles are way out. I used to have a patrol with 2inch over springs and a 2inch body lift with 35s and went everywhere the higher lifted trucks went. I would tell him to drop a couple of inches from his lift.

As soon as Ive got my bike finished Im going to start work on my zook lwb. Ive got toyota diffs, coils/links and 33 super swampers ready to go under it. I cant wait to start it.
