WHAT A FUCKIN' WEEKEND!

Ok boys and girls, I have just been scanning all the posts and going through all the emails I have received and I just want to say a big thank you to everybody that made the effort to come along and have a good time, but even more so, the ASF guys who helped out all weekend. If it wasn't for them there would have been no AFR.

I wanted to thank everyone on Sunday night but I could hardly walk let alone talk and most had left by then anyway, we didn't even get to do the customary awards!

I wish I could thank all of you individually but I know there were people helping out in areas I didn't even get to see! A seriously MASSIVE thanks goes to all those poor buggers that worked the gate as it was away from the main event - you know who you are Rod, Pab, Jacktar, both Marks, Clive, Jim, Wurzel, Sharky, you guys seemed to be in there every day! Then there's the merchandise stand, again, Rod, Paul, Jacktar, Pete, Kaye, Mel, Phill, fuck I could go on all night! I can't thank you enough!

Then there was the bar boys - Shaun, Nick, Huddo, Clint - both nights, all night!

Then there was the 3 bands that we're bloody great and played the entire night for beer only!

Out on the track - Jeremy, Shaun, Nick, Boh, Ben, Greg, Large, Mike, Morry, Jason, Issues, Jerry's wife, Sharky, Wronger, Ian again the list goes on.

Clint again for sorting the timing lights pick up and also driving 2.5 hours to drop them off again!!!

Terry for doing all the local ground work, signs, and ride outs.

Bike craft for driving fuckin' miles, nearly loosing 4 bikes off the back of a broken trailer that almost lost a wheel, covering everything they owned in deisel fumes, then nearly loosing a finger etc etc.

Sammo, Pesh, Boxer and endless stunt guys and gals that I didn't even get chance to meet or know their names that rode the runway black all weekend - You guys fuckin rock!

If I have missed you off this list you know it's not because I meant to it's because I'm still fried, but just know it meant loads to me and makes all the time I put into this forum and other stuff worthwhile, I'm not wasting it on a bunch of dickheads, I'm proud to make such a good bunch of blokes happy!

I will endeavour to get a video montage and write up happening ASAP.

Top weekend Si. I bought a mate up from Sydney and he's already planning to come back next year with a heap of mates and is building a GPZ unitrack fighter/dragbike just for this event. Rexie has bought a FZ 750 to use as a drag bike next year.

The one above at full size will be too big for hotmail mate. Do you want me to resize it to about 850kb or do you have another email account I can use that doesn't have a 1mb limit?

I caught the bug big time too (knew I would), picking up a K5 GSXR1000 tomorrow, hope I have enough time in a year to do what needs doing, and that other stuff too, you know that shit called money. Gix11 email me the full size jobbie any time.

Hey Si do you have a big version of the one where we are all flipping the bird mate? I would love a copy of that one, I have broadband but no idea what my file size limit on email is if I even have one.

Cheers mate.

Well I've just got my head straight again after returning from the AFR and I'd just like to echo Simons original thank you. This damn event has been banging around in my head for almost 2 years (remember the original Evans Head event in Sep 06?) and to finally see it come to fruition in the form of a combined AFR/Straightliners was amazingly satisfying. A massive thank you first of all to the geezer (Simon) who saw my original vision and happily climbed on board and got swept away down the river with me on this one!

I can't give enough thanks to the guys that turned up early to help set up and those who pitched in over the weekend - your assistance made the event what it was and was absolutely invaluable. Thx also go to the guys who helped ship gear from around the country, even if we couldn't get it all working properly! Almost every ASF club member who turned up spent time working in some form over the weekend and not one person complained about it. Top effort guys & girls!

To all the stunters who showed up - the most frequent comment from Mr Joe Public all weekend was along the lines of 'Those guys are fucking mental! They're awesome! Do they EVER stop? Who's that chick in the tight pants[:p]!?!' Thanks for the great show you all put on, hopefully next year we can actually make it even bigger and more worthwile for you all, eh?

To the bands who made the journey down from QLD with no prospect of anything other than some free piss and a shitload of pissed bikers - my hat goes off to you all for putting on a great show and showing the oldies on-site what REAL music sounds like! Bitchfish - pls pass this on to the rest of the guys mate.

To the tyre shop guys who hired a truck and brought down all their gear/guys at their own expense - thanks for tearing up the grass and giving us some of the best free piss-head entertainment I've had in years! I hope you can all make it along next time - with a bigger 4WD!

I know there will be some Casino locals reading this too, so thanks must go out to the Steve & Co. at Casino Village for not hanging up the phone when I first called and told them what I wanted to do in their park! They had faith in the event and so thanks go out to the Directors for trusting Steve's vision and us as a club.

Thx to the Bistro girls who looked after us so well all weekend - I hope we gave the business a bit of a welcome boost and didn't wreck the place TOO bad!

To the Casino Aero Club guys & girls thx for the co-operation with the aerodrome side of things - I hope we didn't ruin your flying program too much and gave you a bit of a giggle from your front row seats.

To Kerrie and all at Richmond Valley Council - thx for assistance in sorting out all of the legals and not giving up on us. I know I had plenty of sleepless nights in the months leading up to the event, so I can only imagine what the mood was like in your offices during each mini-emergency...

Thx also to Mr. Jim Beam for giving me a banging week-long headache, and to Ben for not killing me when I broke his pretty little blue bike in a hung-over brainsnap[xx(].

A big thank you to RAPID for coming on board in sponsoring the event and making the trip up. I know you guys were right on deadline so the effort is even more appreciated. Next time leave the tupperware at home and bring a REAL bike (preferably one that WON'T beat all of the custom turbo bike guys - they didn't like that!).

Finally I must thank my wife for not pulling the pin after each cost escalation and having enough faith in 2 dumb poms ability to bring all of this together and not lose shedloads of $$ and hair in the process - love U honey:D!!!

At this point we don't know exactly what the plans are for next years AFR, but regardless you can bet your bottom $ that it'll be bigger and better! ;)
